Ok so the guys with the ar195s are bragging that they are hitting 54-55mph, I hate to be that guy, but it kinda gets to me, I know I saved a ton getting a 16 but 5mph is alot on a boat like this. A 15 year old kid just bought my buddys old xp and it runs 56mph, I will never hear the end of it if he walks me while I'm out with his dad. Anyways, I'm not dropping a load of cash on the boat but I will do select mods. SVHO intercooler will be installed in July, ribbon delete when ever I get around to it but thats I'll I have planned, maybe remove the air filter to try it?

Anyone have an idea of mods and their increases in performance, out of the hole, mid range, and top end? I know greenhulk has it for the skis? Yes increases are very little but still, would be nice to know what will get you what. Like if its 1500$ to get 5mph thats cheap IMO. I wonder what a low boost pulley would do for topend? 11psi at 7400.
I HIGHLY doubt they are constantly hitting 54-55 MPH (GPS verified). The dream-o-meter on these boats is not GPS so don't go by that number on the gauge. Also disregard pretty much any spec you get from boat test.com LOL. If you want to hit speeds in the 50's (GPS) you will need to get a larger SC wheel + supporting mods and go that route. These are gear-driven centrifugal superchargers so there is no pulley. If you want more boost you will need to change the compressor wheel. You'll never get the same hole shot or turning differences as we have a 155mm pump and the 195 has the 160mm. If top speed is what you're after you're gonna need more power and might as well go all out and get some ECU tuning with MaptunerX. The lakes I ride on can get kind of rough and choppy and no way I'd want to beat my brains out for a couple more mph + all that $$$$ when in the end I'll rarely use. The guy on here that had all that custom hull/pump work done to his 192 spent several thousands of dollars (around $6k IIRC) to get into the low 50's.

His mods were:
Ribbon Delete
Solas 160mm SVHO Impeller
Yamaha 160mm Wear Ring
WFO Modified and Extended Nozzle
R&D R3 Jetboat Flash of ECU
WFO Fabricated Cold Air Intake
WFO Water Strainer for Intercooler
WFO Free Flow Exhaust Fabrication
45 Degree Water Exit
R&D C1-11 Compressor Wheel
Riva Blow Off Valve
Sealed Intake Grate, Transom, And Shoe
Riva Gen 2 Intercooler

All of that and his numbers were 52 MPH (GPS verified) @ 7600 RPM. I'd be willing to bet he is also putting out more power than a 195 or stock SVHO, so I'm not buying a stock 195 can do 54-55 MPH (GPS). If that's worth the $6k price for a couple of MPH then more power to you! I know if it's me and if I'm spending 6k then it's going to be in the depreciation hit upon trade-in for a twin engine boat that will get me into the 50's without beating you up as much :D. YMMV

I had a Sea Doo XP so you can forget trying to win that race or pretty much any high performance PWC. The power to weight ratio is just too lop-sided to even think of racing one lol. Sorry but unless you want your ego crushed racing your buddy, I would just enjoy the boat for what it is and enjoy having a ton of room and flexibility of your boat compared to a PWC.

I know the WFO guys know what they are doing, and probably were tuning the boat for better handling, low to midrange power, and reliability. The boat would pick up a few mph if it was setup to run a higher rpm. Keep in mind, prior to mods, the WFO boat probably was a dog like so many other heat soaked 192's. I'm sure the owner is happy with the improvement.

I hit 52 mph with Intercooler, ribbon delete, cold air intake, and shimmed ride plate (Pic proof below). I bet the WFO boat would smoke me in a drag race though.

GPS speed is in lower left corner of chart plotter. It's been a while, but I think this was mid 80's with 90 degree water. Not sure how much fuel I had on. There for sure was a cooler of Cold Beer on board.

I purchased the ET Low Boost wheel, blow off valve, and Lucky 13 cone this week. Already have a powershot for tuning. I plan to pitch up the stock impeller until rpms hold around 7600. I'm mostly looking for increased midrange power, but I'm hoping for 55mph top speed. If it hits the rev limit really hard, I might have to go for the ECU tune instead of playing with the impeller pitch. These parts were purchased used, so my cost is pretty low compared to buying new.

Low Boost wheel $390
Blow off Valve $60
Powershot $165
Lucky 13 cone $200

I might have time this week to install, but it might turn into a winter project. I don't have a way to monitor AFR yet so I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

If anyone could do it, it would be you.
You still miss that new 160mm pump. The L13 is fantastic, and can make a huge difference in takeoff and pulling but not so much top end. And an impeller pitched for top speed will absolutely blow on takeoff.
I would think a reflash is a must to generate extra boost to push for 55mph sustained speeds. Still, I don't see it happening, these hulls seem to hit a wall around 50.
Keep us posted!

On a side note I've only see 46-47. No calm water runs yet and so solo runs.

I installed everything this weekend and made it to the lake today. It's about what I expected. Extra power at any speed, no cavatation, but I'm hitting the rev limit bad. Ran 50mph full of fuel and 4 people on board. Backed off to get it off the Rev limit and maintained 50mph. With the same conditions before upgrades, I would have been around 47 mph. It's a 2-3 mph gain.

I don't think adjusting the stock impeller will be enough to get it off the limiter. I'm going to do the R3 flash and I think I'll be happy.

You maybe right, but would be easy to check. Those OEM impellers adjust very easy and clean on trailing edge, unlike Solas. And you wouldn't need to file anything going up (trailing edge pitch - as the OD would shrink minimally) so not issues reversing it later, no filing, no welding, really easy. 1mm (of trailing edge bend) maybe worth 200RPM on top.
But then - you wouldn't benefit from increased boost. I also wonder why R3? it is a very well regarded program but RIVA's Jesus and the reversibility of MapTuner/V-tech would make me go there. Just wondering. (I'm asking, not telling, lol).

Im sure any of the tunes would be fine. I see the most ET Low Boost / R3 combos on the skis running reliably. I would rather have the Maptuner X, but I'm trying to keep cost down. Dean's tune is the cheapest, I may call them and see what they think would work with my mods.

If I could find someone with a Maptuner, I would buy a tuning license and have them flash it for me.

If I can't keep the cost low, I would be better off upgrading to a different boat. Also trying to get this done without my wife finding out.

Wow i think we are twins lol, modding stuff without the wife finding out is my goal for my boat too.

Are you running an intercooler upgrade? Did you tune the spacers on that thrust nozzle whatever its called. I know it directly affects your RPMs based on the spacer you run might be something to consider either way more RPM's more boost more speed.

Type 14 Intercooler. I put all 3 spacers in the Lucky 13. I figured it would still be on the limiter and it was. I pulled the ecu tonight. I'm just reading up now to decide what to do with it. It's hard to find good info. I'm reading on Greenhulk, and I can find a lot of guys that say they ran that charger wheel with an R3 tune and had no problems. I don't want to get into Fuel Pressure Regulators and custom tuning. I want to plug it in and forget about it. I don't want to chase the "perfect" tune throwing money at it.

So I'm looking for reviews on this ET Low Boost wheel and different ECU tunes that don't require injectors or regulators. Wife comes home tomorrow, so it has to be shipped off by then. Decisions.

I have heard ONLY great things about Dean tuning. R3 is tried and true, too.
@WFO Performance did R3 I think in one of the best moded 192s here.

Yeah, I think the word is the Dean's is the best, but it has to be fine tuned with fuel pressure. R3 is a good safe tune. I'm going to try to call and get some info about the Dean's tune tomorrow. If he could set up a tune on the safe side of things, that would be the way to go.

Call Art at ET guys ncie he might know. Only issue is we have more of a load so how does that effect the tune vs a ski? A/F readings that is.

I called Dean's Team today. They said they can do a safe tune for the ET Low Boost wheel with no fueling upgrades. I'm boxing it up now to be shipped off. I won't have time to install and test for a few weeks. I'll post when I have more info.

Got these parts in slowly from babbits as a few were on back order. Was still unsure if I wanted to commit to a 2nd pisser for warranty etc.

I said well let me take one off and measure it, about 20min later I was done...all oem parts. Decently straight with my crooked eye.

I got the fitting for a 2nd bilge, that'll be for another day.

What'd they say to expect out of it?

They didn't really say what it would do. I hope it will hit 8300 rpm without repitching the impeller. That would put it around 54mph. We will see.
