I wonder what kind of boost you're getting at 8600 RPM? That wheel is supposed to put out 14 lbs @ 8450. Do you have a boost gauge? I'm sorry I can't remember this thread is mega long lol
Yeah, I'm going to make a new thread once everything is dialed in and I get the boat ecu back from Dean. Hopefully the title will be "60 mph SX192".

I didn't put in a boost gauge, so I don't know. Everything I have read says I need to keep the rpms under 8400 with that charger wheel. It's very close to the max boost the stock fuel system can keep up with.

Great results so far.

This has me really curious on what tuning a relatively stock boat will net for just premium fuel and an svho intercooler.

I'm curious as well, to see how far the stock supercharger impeller could take the boat with the boost limiter removed and rev limiter removed as well, or at least set above where the stock motor could get to under full load.

I've never seen hard numbers on it, only that yamaha electronically limits manifold boost to 6.4 psid or the RPM limit. My understanding is that most throttle blades on the 192s are at 62-68 degrees when at electronically limited full throttle.

Since true WOT is universally anything past about 82 degrees, and even the stock wheel will continue to make more boost and power as RPM climbs, I wonder....

I think there would be a big improvement with a tune and intercooler. $800 for both and a couple hours to install. It would be worth it for sure.

Boat ran 55mph this morning with full fuel, 4 kids and 2 adults. This was with 2 kids in the bow.

Do you have a link to his ecu tune or did you just contact Dean and go that way?

Just call Dean 407-601-2379. They are still working on getting the cruise assist and no wake mode working. It should be ready soon.

I will need the cruise assist and no wake to work because I use them all the time. I'm curious how well this would work for the stock supercharger wheel and svho intercooler too. I'm not sure how far you can take an svho intercooler before it starts to have a lot of heat soak like the stock sho does. I know a lot of the greenhulk guys ditch them if they are going to get serious with tunes and mods.

Is your next mod to install wings on the boat to see if it can takeoff? :D

I think the SVHO intercooler is good for the stock supercharger. Any other upgrades would probably require a bigger intercooler. The Fizzle intercooler with blow off valve looks really nice for the money.

We got really beat up today in the rough water. The lake we go to is pretty narrow and the big boats cruise through at 20mph leaving huge wakes. I'm looking forward to Tuesday when the water will be smooth. I'm going to try a few GPS apps out that capture max speeds so I don't have to hold my phone and video at high speed. Always gets me a dirty look from the wife.

Here's a screenshot from today. 4 kids, 2 adults and gear. 2 kids in the bow which we know kills speed in these 19's. Trying to figure out how to size the pic.

The boat market is wildly untapped vs the ski market and I believe much is unknown.

What's the stock limiter on these boats? I never see past 7400, but I'm also never alone in the boat. I would think tuning for higher octane alone and getting the boat to 8k should be very noticeable(maybe 50mph sustainable with a load in the boat?). Just the increased ignition timing would net a decent gain. I imagine the stock map to be extremely watered down. The 190s rev to 7800 stock right?

Keep good fuel in it and let her eat.

Finally some smooth water today. 3 kids and full fuel ran 57.27 mph. After my wife got in it would run 56.5 mph. I need a major step up with the impeller, it's hard to keep it off of the rev limiter. We did about a 4 mile run at 55 mph. AFR was 11.8-12.0 and the engine didn't seem any hotter than normal.

What's your feedback on the acceleration of the boat? Is it a rocket to 50mph or similar to stock but doesn't stop pulling?

Give us some more details :)

I did a video 2 years ago when I first did the intercooler install. I went back and timed my 0-50 from that. Now it's 10 seconds faster to 50mph. It's hard to get a feel for it because it's hitting the rev limiter. I take off and start easing off of the throttle to keep it off the limiter, by then I'm over 50 mph.

I'll do some videos after I figure out what to do with the impeller.

Maybe mess with the throttle stop in the interm?

Same but stock with wake tower runs 46 on wisho meter on mine. Bone stock.

@SamCF Mother of God! This is insane. Fantastic results, I did not think you would get that far. Wow.

Note to self:
Do not ever again bother tuning N/A 1.8l.

Note to self #2:
Must stop thinking about a reflashed twin SVHO boat.
(Not good for marriage.)

@swatski I heard that the 195's can run 60 mph easily with a conservative tune.

I'm currently studying impellers. I know the best route would be the 160mm setup, but it's going to run around $850. I'm looking for a used Skat-Trak around a 15/21. I went back and read your research on impellers. I wish I could repitch the stock impeller, but I don't think it will be enough. If I can find a good used Skat, I'll go that route.

Please try bending the OEM impeller, it is relatively easy and the material is (kind of) soft. A big vice to hold it, a big crescent, microfiber towel, a sharpie, a good transparent ruler (and a six pack!) - all you need to bend it down by about 2mm on the trailing edge. Won't change the OD specs and should drop you below the rev limit - no doubt in my mind. Just mark some reference points on the blades and bend to the ruler - focusing on the 2-3 inches of the end of each blade. Easily reversible, too, and you are not filing or welding.

I am just in awe. I hate to give advice on this as I did not thing you will get very far at all - and here you are! But as far as bending the trailing edge to get off of the rev limiter - that should be a sure thing.
