Alright guys I’m looking for some new transom tie downs (I want to get something similar to this). Any recommendations, these seem like the best I’ve seen so far.

Also any recommendations on installing? I did come across the boatbuckle universal mounting bracket. Has any one used this?

20171105_093850.jpg 20171105_093818.jpg One of the first upgrades I did for my trailer, took about 20 minutes drilling and installing. I even put one on the bow to keep the bow nice and secure while trailering, which I do since I garage the boat. The broker I bought it from said straps weren't even necessary, the boat weighs enough to keep it on the trailer . So after strapping the boat down with some straps I had in the truck we sweated the whole 70 miles home on I75. Ordered the stainless steel versions for the stern and the standard for the bow. (hopefully they won't see the salt water), the minute we got home from https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GJ35VU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and the bow strap I got from amazon on a warehouse deal (return). I also ordered the universal mount but ended up not using it.
Install was easy just get a good drill bit I used a dewalt carbide tipped 7/16 bit from HD and stainless steel nuts and bolts (I had to buy because the ones supplied weren't long enough.)

I have them as well and they are great! One of the first mods I did along with the bow roller and I would highly recommend them. Makes it so easy and quick at the launch.

Did you use the universal mounting bracket? Can you send some pictures of how and where you mounted them?

Mine didn't require any brackets for my Shorelander galvanized trailer. There is a flanged area of the trailer with a hole already in it that you use. Same flange and hole the stock strap hooks use IIRC.

Here is a picture of how I used the universal mount. They bent a little after I installed them in 2012 but they have been rock solid since with no more bending. One of my boat buckles does not retract all the way after unhooked but it still hangs high enough so that it doesn't touch the ground.20140617_182958[1].jpg

Is that an MFI trailer? The shorelandr trailers shouldn't need any universal mounts as there is already a spot to mount the boat buckles.

Same for me. Just bent the tabs a little on my MFI trailer and bolted them up. One of my favorite mods ever!
