@Rana is a sweet lady!

(if I lost my glasses during the crossing... and Kate found out about it... I would have had them nailed to my forehead on the way back, lol)

My wife will kill me for posting this, but ff you are a newbie this might be useful for you, especially if young kids are on-board.

Objective: Show how an armature crew can go from good times to panic in a matter of a second.
What happened: we were playing boat soccer and in order for me to hit to ball a low as possible, I had my trim tabs 100% deployed, so to lower the bow. During a hard stbd it was all funny games, during a hard port the family went flying.
Thinks to look for:
1: once a someone cries, everyone oboard starts crying. You might want to keep that in mind. Panic spread faster than the fastest virus.
2: while @Rick215HO approach to make sure we are okay he put a wake out, and made a screwed 6 year to freak out even more.
3: notice how communication is difficult and we are on idle.

Thinks to remember before and while crossing :
1: During the crossing none will be doing donuts, but it is likely that a crew member will fly of his/her seat (happened in 2017).
2: While in the stream you will not be able to stop. If you stop, you will take water. Can you imagine the panic in the boat had we been taking water while my kids and wife were recovering!!!!
3: Communication on the stream and under full 6000 RPM will be significantly worse.

PS. I am starting to think that God led me to this forum, so I can be an example of what NOT to do while in a jet boat :banghead:

I had lasik as well, and it won't help you when you're closing in on 50 and your reading vision starts to go, in fact having had lasik will actually make the decline faster and more pronounced, at least according to my eye guy. (that was smooth, lets all say it again; my eye guy, my eye guy, my eye guy, ok done)

My kid are older now but when they were that age we had a rule ..... U can't cry until u can tell me what hurts.. Once u tell me what hurts then u can cry.. For our three it was remarkable. . They would cry when they got scared but then would pull it back. . Say what hurt and then cry for like a min.. Kinda like your girl did when your wife started talking to her.... Now.... It doesn't work once mama realizes all the kids are fine and then she turns her angry gaze to u @Betik.. The best thing to do is assume a submissive posture of non stop I'm sorry with little to no eye contact. ! She don't care if u cry! Lol

I hear you, my eyes before lasik were so bad I couldnt even see the chart, much less read anything on it. I had mine done almost 20 years ago. My point was more about not busting @Bruce 's balls about his needing glasses to see up close, because we are all going to be there someday.

Big lake tomorrow. 1 foot or less near shore
2-4 out a ways and 3-5 5 miles out by afternoon. We will get a late start but hope to go test some wave jumping capability!

I spend a lot of time jumping 2 feet waves at 40+mph. It was not even close to what I faced during the crossing.

I would not risk the boat taking a damage so close to the trip

I spoke with the shop Friday. Full service is just about completed, the new outdrive is on it's way, and she should be good to go in time for our trip (@ ~ $13,000).:inpain::(
Hopefully nothing else goes wrong.

Full tune-up, new risers and manifolds, heads reworked, oil leak fixed, one new outdrive, and some fiberglass work. It adds up quick.
Only thing not yet addressed is the generator not running (appears to be starving for fuel).
The fun of having a minivan... LOL :D:D
