One last question, did you notice a noise increase when you went with that K&N over the stock air filter. And I'm guessing I don't need one with a flame arrestor since I'm not doing the ribbon delete? Is that correct
I didn’t notice any difference. I used a flame arrestor type since I planned to remove the ribbon.

Yes, that is normal. I ran mine under the brackets for the cover and zip tied them in place....loosely so it would not collapse the tube at all. Gave me a little more length.
oh I meant the main air intake intake tube the BOV is pretty much sitting on it.

oh, yes....I know what you mean. I have the same situation, maybe an inch clearance after I zip tied the air intake tube closer to the hull. Not much room in there now, no way a stock air filter and housing would work with their 50mm BOV.

Pardon my ignorance regarding BOVs, but would the 35 mm BOV work? Does it have physically smaller outer dimensions? I understand the concept of why a BOV is beneficial, just not sure what the pros/cons would be of the 35 vs 50 mm. I'd like to retain my stock airbox. Thanks.

It really all depends on how you use your boat and how often you are using the throttle. If you tend to throttle down quickly, the bigger the better IMO, to relieve that unwanted pressure from the supercharger. I am sure a 35mm BOV will work perfectly fine in most cases and will do the job. Also, to my knowledge, all 35mm BOVs will work with the stock air cleaner housing, but going up to most 50mm BOV's, will require you to remove stock air cleaner housing and use a cold air intake.

Sounds great. Thanks for the info! Do the BOVs need to be tuned at all? Or are they just plug/play?

Depending on where you get them, usually just a plug and play. I got mine from fizzlefactory.com and it came with everything needed to install. Very good experience from emailing and asking questions, pricing and shipment, and performance.

Curious about the little breather filter on top of the catch can. Wouldn't a closed system provide more efficient crankcase pressure evacuation? I've seen many forced induction engines in the auto world utilizing catch cans that aren't vented. Not wanting to start a debate, just wanting to know the rationale. It seems that pulling a constant vacuum on the crankcase while filtering/catching the gasses would be the best of both worlds. What am I missing?

Here is some good reading:

I'll be running my setup with the provided bolt in lieu of the breather.

Lol don’t think you missed anything. The catch cans come w the breather or a delete, try it either way. :)

Is it normal for the BOV to be open sometimes during idle? Seems like it opens under idle but only a crack.
