Beautiful! You can expect more downshifting on slighter inclines with the 10-speed, but I think the more gears helps overall efficiency and matching optimal engine speed to road speed and load. If it has programming similar to my F150, you’ll also notice skipping gears on the way up/down especially when not towing. This is also normal. Enjoy the new Tahoe!

What motor do you have in your F150? In my 3.5 unless the incline is a pretty big hill it won't downshift at all at 70mph on the highway. It stays in 10th gear just all day long. The skipping gears in normal mode up/down is annoying, especially in the first gen(2017), which is what I have. It's super clunky. I could get it reprogrammed, but it isn't doing any harm, just is a mild annoyance. Not to mention I won't own this thing outside of the powertrain warranty. LOL!

Just picked up our boat today to take it to dry storage with our 2012 Volkswagen Touareg TDI. It does not have the air ride suspension, I'd consider upgrading but we won't be towing the boat that often. Pulls it pretty nice; boat has a 2600lb listed dry weight, I think the trailer is another 1k to 1200lb or so? The Touareg is rated for 7700lbs, 770lbs tongue weight. Since it's torquey (is that a word?) getting the boat moving is not an issue at all. The trailer has surge brakes, and combined with what I think are already some of the best brakes developed in the automotive world, slowing the whole rig down is super easy, pretty much like it's not there.

I'm using the Curt Rockerball 2" ball, just got it to try it out. It does seem to take out some of the jerkiness and clunking you can experience with a regular draw bar and ball though, so far I like it.

Ford need to get their head out their ass and put that engine in the Expedition and Navigator and explorer and Aviator like a year or two ago, lol. Hyperbole aside, that engine in a Navi would take it from "not on my list" to "top of my list".
