That area stayed dry on my old, and so far has stayed dry on this one, so it should be fine, plus the amps will sit back enough still.

Any tips for the wiring in tower?
I used fish tape after struggling for a while with other methods (we won't say what those were...lol) made it not to bad after that

Ditto on the string and vacuum. you can tie a little piece of sponge to the string too for a little extra suck

If that was for me YamPat, I don’t have my boat on the water yet.

I haven’t gone full throttle yet. Last trip out was super choppy. I hope to get on the lake sometime this month, that is usually full throttle.

Ive had mine (252SE) WOT and got to 44 MPH. Pretty calm/cool day with almost no chop. Only have 8 hours on the engines.

That is very low speed.

Can you cruise around 30mph at around 6000 rpm ?

i am trying to understand if they are just slower top speed of just slower all around.

i have a 2010 AR240 I'm doing between 47 to 50 MPH top speed and cruising easy 30-35 MPH around 6000MPH

This was from boattest.com. 6000 rpm looks to be the sweet spot for cruise and fuel economy. 77384BAA-4D24-4CAA-B932-603E024E229E.png

Wow. I’ve ran my 2019 242SE with 400lbs of batteries in the bow and 400lbs of audio equipment, plus all the standard boating gear, full tank of gas... 3 people onboard at 47mph. I’m surprised WOT on the 25 is not faster

I don't know exactly where all the stats were as we were cruising, but this chart here looks very close to what I remember while we were out cruising. This is my first boat, so I'm not sure what all the speeds are supposed to look like. 44 does seem low for WOT, and I do understand everyone's concerns, as I have the same concerns myself. I understand the hull design is different from previous years models, so that could have a lot to do with it, plus the boat weighs 4500#, which is 500# more than 2020 242X. Maybe when the engine clocks past 10 hours, the magic will happen and we will gain some MPH, but not really holding my breath on that one.

If you're looking for the extra top end, then the 255 with SVHO seems like a better option with a 55 MPH top end as reported by boattest.

My biggest concern is whether or not we will be able to pull a couple tubes with adults on board, or pull wakeboarders/slalom skiers, etc. Wont really know until this summer here in the PNW, or until someone else with a 252 is able to report.

I will verify some of the #'s when we take it back out again. I will say that it handles chop extremely well, and the space/seating/back seating is an awesome layout and design.

I know the AR250 is 519LBS lighter... don't know how much that is affected the performance.

i know that is not as nice of a boat though.... here in Canada 🇨🇦 it is 30000$ cheaper !!

I definitely debated getting the AR250 because of the weight and price difference ($20,000 US less than the 252SE), but ended up getting the 252 because of the additional features that I would have otherwise wanted to install (Throttle sync, speed control, speakers, Solid Bimini top) or really wanted, Ie, the back seating area with the sliding seats....Not sure if you would be able to get those from Yamaha to install yourself.

I feel like looking back now, for the extra $10,000 US, the 255XE would probably be a better option because of the SVHOs, integrated wakebooster, integrated ballast, wakeboard holders, mirrior...etc.

If the top end is only 45ish, I am ok with that. I do intercoastal mostly and 40 is usually too fast with all the boat traffic around here. I kinda thought the same as for the extra money. But I do not want to give up the storage, or the in water seating. Plus the extra gas and maintenance on the SVHOs, I am fine with the purchase. (Also I had basically no other choice lol)

Unless you are a serious wakeboarder, I wouldn’t have any buyers remorse for going with the SE or SD. they are awesome Boats and will serve us well. I’m ok without the superchargers & Premium gas, maintenance ..... keeping in mind I don’t have anything to compare it too like some of you going from 24’s but my boat is a party boat. I won’t miss 3 or 5 mph. although some may disagree I’m super happy with my decision.

Batteries Installed and 0 gauge power wire ran for the amps. The 252 has a factory ground bus bar. Hard to see in the picture, but I added a 0 gauge ground from batteries to the bus bar, then connected my amp ground to that as well.

Going to install a temporary amp for the tower speakers until I can get my hands on the HTX-6s.
