2014 242 limitedS tower paint repair

While towing our new Boat from Minnesota to Colorado the zipper came out and beat our tower badly. Our tower is black powder coated. We have since taken our boat in and had snaps put on the top instead. Way better!! Have not fixed the tower yet. But we take the top down when towing.

Finally PERFORMANCE MODS For Yamaha 1.8 Motors

I did the ribbon delete and can definitely feel a difference. We live in Denver and boat at 4000 ft elevation. It made our boat feel snappier and gained 200 rpms. I plan on adding the new K&N filters.

Wake Surfing at Lake Powell with our 242 FUN!!

The 750lb on the floor takes up a lot but the seats are empty. About half the time we fill up the 400lb bag and strap it on the swim deck. With that bag filled it makes the wave taller with a lot more push. Smaller less aggressive riders don't really like it. They say it pushes them into the...

Wake Surfing at Lake Powell with our 242 FUN!!

This was using 1200lbs of water bags and 500lbs of lead weight. We moved the batteries back and put the lead weight bags next to the batteries. We also have a 400lb water bag under the left rear seat and a 750lb bag on the floor. We have 3 to 4 people sitting in the back left side or on the...

Wake Surfing at Lake Powell with our 242 FUN!!

Yes we are using the Wake Wedge. It really cleans up the wave. There are two pockets. One is about 4 foot the other is about 8 feet. Lighter riders can go back and forth. I'm 215lbs and if I drift to the back pocket I have to lean way forward not to lose it.

Riding in the back of the boat lounge area..

Right or Wrong I spend 4 plus hours during the day riding in the seats on the swim deck, wearing a life jacket. We spend most of the day surfing 10 to 11 miles per hour. The extra weight of my buddy and I, 400lbs, really helps in creating a great wake. Extra Ballast and the wake wedge makes...

Finally Wakesurfing Ropeless behind our 242

We have tried some weight in the front and it didn't do much for us. Our 242 really likes the weight in the left rear corner..

Rope Less Wakesurfing Finally Behind Our 242

We spent most of the summer trying to go rope less. Of course my 14 year old son nailed it his second time out. We have a local shop that will let us try several boards. I'm 215lbs and I have tried the Red Rocket, and the 5.6 Hyperlite Idylwood, and I could only go rope less for 5-10 seconds...

Finally Wakesurfing Ropeless behind our 242

We spent a lot of time trying to go ropeless wake surfing this summer. My 14 year old son mastered it the second time behind our new jet boat. He enjoyed rubbing it in too. We learned a few things about ballast that helped me at 215 lbs go ropeless. We have 2 400lbs bags and 500lbs of lead...

    Stiff steering?

I Had the same problem when I installed my TVXL. The install video says to set spring tension at the 2 o'clock position. Very hard to steer at just below plaining speed. I loosened up tension to 1 o'clock so TV are very easy to push up. Big improvement. Took away heavy steering.

    Gas Tank Won't Fill, HELP!

My Yamaha dealer said if you keep trying to top the boat off fuel can get into that canister and plug it up. I told them I don't. That thing costs $250. I'm getting ready to put it up for the winter. Bummer!! But will be watching this closely. Starting to think about getting the snowmobiles...
