2007 SX230 Depth gauge replacement

Looks like my OEM depth finder has finally died. It gets power but reads only “—-.—-“.
I use the boat on inland lakes almost exclusively so I don’t need a fancy GPS/fish finder but it might be nice to have some bells and whistles if it’s not prohibitively expensive. What I do want is depth, water temp and (if possible) battery status. I’d love to hear your recommendations.

@salmon alley any update on this. I want to replace my stock 2007 depth finder (hasn’t worked for a few seasons) with a simple depth and water temp sensor. What did you end up doing?

I replaced mine a couple months ago but didn't ever get around to posting about it. I went with this one and have been happy with it:

It isn't a difficult job but isn't plug and play. I replaced the display unit and the hall mounted transducer. The difficult part of the job was routing the new cable from the port side up through the hull and across to the starboard side then forward to the instrument panel. I taped it onto the old one and used that to pull through. I had to remove the cleanout hatch because of the zip ties holding the cable up off of the exhaust.

The whole project probably took 4 hours. This was a bit of an upgrade as I now have water temperature (and air temperature but I left the sensor on the back of the instrument panel so it is basically worthless). Other than losing my reading during sharp turns, I haven't had any trouble with it.

I was considering this but it got pretty shit reviews on Amazon. Can you give an update? Still working?

It is still working and I have no complaints. It will occasionally lose signal when on plane and turning sharp. I suspect the sensor is coming out of the water and it isn't an issue with the product.
