Completed 2016 SeaDek Group Buy

Question. Is it necessary to fill in the screw holes that are going to be covered up by the SeaDek? I can't think of a reason why I would need to.

Yamaha uses a lot of wood in our fiberglass boats. If water were to get to wood through open screw holes it could start rotting in your floor.

It does not take very long to fill the holes with 5200 so I would do it.

@JetBoatPilot Any idea when these will start shipping out for those of us that have ordered and paid for their kit. Your website says you have 100 in stock so im just curious if you have a date on when they will ship. I am very excited to install the Seadek so i can use the boat a few more times with it installed before the end of the year.

I know that SeaDek is so exciting that everyone wants to get it quickly. That is a good thing but @JetBoatPilot is offering us a huge discount. That creates a large volume of orders that keeps his shop busy when it would ordinarily be slowing down. That is good for his employees that get to keep working and for us because we get fresh from the oven SeaDek at an amazing discount. Will is not selling an off the shelf product. He has measured all of our boat models and layed out a perfect fit SeaDek plan for each. He orders rolls of SeaDek then uses CNC machines to cut it perfectly for our boats. After cutting they inspect each mat to verify it is up to their standards. JetBoatPilot creates an amazing product with equally amazing customer service standing behind it.

We got in on the deal last year.... before sea decK people would say... wow. JICE boat... After Seadeck The Same People said, "U BOUGHT A BRAN NEW BOAT"? Lol it makes that big of a difference..

Thanks Bruce! I'll definitely fill them in based on this info.

Thanks for the input, Bruce!

I have read most of this thread but am still wondering about how the seadek cleans up (hair, sand, crumbs, spills, etc.) in the cockpit area. Are most folks using a powerwasher to clean? Does anyone prefer the bare cockpit over Seadek? I think seadek is a no brainer on the swim platform but am hesitant about the cockpit area. The carpets stay out of my boat because of how easy the fiberglass cleans up. I have a 2013 and the factory swim mat has started to "dust", which is a real pain. I will be ordering Seadek for the swim platform at a minimum.

If you are only buying a swim deck kit, for a 2010-2014 240 series, in storm gray over black, let me know if you want a deal on the following cockpit mats...

1, 2, 16

...I purchased these with my swim deck kit a couple of years ago but they come standard with the cockpit kit I am ordering. I talked with JBP and they can't swap out those mats for the group buy (which i totally understand).

@Bruce If you think this should be moved to its own for sale thread and not posted here, please let me know and I will delete from this thread.

Thanks!

I haven't had any super tough stains to remove, but I have experience with dog hair, sand, and the occasional footprints from the driveway. The dog hair and string do cling to the SeaDek. Thats mostly due to the brushed finish. A good hosing or water and a soft nylon brush and it's gone. Sand can be sprayed right off. The footprints do require little brushing with water. I have a spray bottle of diluted simple green, which I will use for the most stubborn stuff. I have had zero issues with this material and most everything either washes off, or takes a little scrubbing. I plan on getting a small soft nylon deckbrush threaded to a pole to help with keeping the cockpit clean. By no means do I think that it will be easier than the bare, non-skid surface. It is an upgrade from the carpet, though. I hope my two cents helps.

@Bryan L
Thanks. Very useful information. So overall, the pros of the Seadek out-weigh the cons associated with cleaning when compared to the bare surface?

That's the way I look at it. The other day, I was out playing fetch with dog off the back off the swim platform. Her black hair ends up everywhere. I grabbed my small brush and a bucket and was able to remove the hair with little effort. One of the biggest things I like, is the fact that this surface doesn't absorb water. She has had accidents where she has peed on the carpet. It sucks cleaning that while underway. Thankfully, she now goes on the SeaDek off the swim platform.

I do agree with the ease of cleaning the bare non-skid surface. Every other trip, I pull the carpet and hose the sand, rocks and dog hair. The water channels everything away and out. Dry in 20 mins.

im in for a swim deck set for my 2010 242LS.. I am one of the few that likes carpet.

I thought I posted this but I can find it... in July we went to a church lake day at kerr lake. Lots if people off and on the boat... one lady was kinda scared and track large clumps of red Mudd onto the boat from her feet. We installed the storm grey over black faux in the spring. I saw this I started freaking out while still trying to be polite.. I even grabbed her foot and scrapped the mud off of it. I tried to throw water on it from a bucket but it really didn't work well ... so we finished the day with out me looking down at the carolina redd mud mashed into my bran new light grey seadeck... that day we left the lake early just to get home and clean the boat. My wife used a small bucket with warm water and pine sol and a small brush with the water hose. In 10 min the entire boat floor was clean and looked like new. We were amazed!!
Now u do have to scrub with a brush but don't think it's like scrub the same place for 10 min.. sit up to catch your breath just to look down and see 60% of the stain is still there and is gonna require more scrubning. No. It's scrub rise move .. scrub rinse move.

Now what we do if there are no stains and just sand and small rocks and stuff, I sent my kids out there with a small hand held vacuum and they vacuum all the seems and around the edges in like 5 min... bam... done.

The carpet was a pain. Once out the boat floor was easy to clean but we still had to deal with the carpet. Scrub let dry in the drive way. Turn over so the bottom will dry and it still has that must moldy smell to it.

Seadeck... the only way to go!

That is all, you will now be returned to your regularly scheduled program.

Well placed my order for every piece they have for a 2011 AR240! And I'm feeling great! Can't wait to put it in! Thanks Kelly for making it so easy to get it done.

I am in on the group buy for a full kit. I need to email Will??
Opinions on what to go with. I am thinking storm gray over black for my boat. but what about 2'' or 4'' teak pattern. Is this offered from @JetBoatPilot? I am thinking about going with width that matches closest to the vertical lines in the back rest on the swim platform.

Now that's a nice boat! I like the naked look too:). Email Will with what you want and they will send you an invoice and you can call in to pay by phone. You need to pay by 9/30 to get the discount though.

They have a faux teak but I don't think the lines are as wide as our upholstery. I went with the brushed with border. You can see the different looks on the jetboatpilot website.

Just called and settled my account. Don't wait until the last minute! Friday will be here before you know it!!!

@96Pirate, thanks! hate to say it but these are pics of a boat for sale in Oklahoma, but my boat is exactly same naked look with a galvanized trailer. Needed pics and wont see the boat before sale is up. Gotta go in for knee surgery on thrusday....

@dirksgoat I would go with the 2 inch pattern. Really for this sale we're only offering the 2 inch pattern but if you wanted to spend the extra money I could reprogram the machine and cut it with 4 inch lines. Bear in mind that the discounts at the level are possible because I can take a previously patterned and programmed file and run it quickly without having to get another man involved with a design and program time. Like I said it can be done but with an additional cost.

Just called and processed my order for the cockpit kit! Gray with the Black border! Thanks for this group buy @JetBoatPilot !
