This is gettin goooooood
;):cool::p

@Valerie, @Girlfriend were you two on the 7+ hour ski crossing in July of 2015?

My family was headed to Blue Water for fuel when that group came in and talked with several skis. That was a terrible beating. So many skis were being towed. The craziest part was the tiny boats that had crossed with the skis and I remember one father on a ski, without a life jacket, with a less than 8 year old daughter holding onto his back!

We were part of that group
When we arrived I remember me and my other “friend” chatting with some people on a boat.....
We had 22 skis and 2 boats that day
The one boat (not the Donzi) crosses on the regular
They were amazing
Offering to swap out their crew for tired jet skiers and they even gave fuel to the people who lost their jugs during the crossing
I followed in his wake for most of the crossing
But there was a smaller group that arrived a day earlier
That was my first crossing
I’m pretty sure that trip prepared me
for almost any type of crossing lol

7 hours :wtf: wow that a long trip. How long did it take you to get across that day @Valerie ?
It wasn’t that bad
My smaller group was the first to enter Bimini
It was almost everyone’s first crossing
No one was in sync refueling so we were stopping about every 20 minutes.
I was out on the water with friends at the time, the seas weren’t too bad.... so I couldn’t complain, I was still in a beautiful place
It was better then the waiting hours at customs lol
All and all It was a good learning experience.

@robert843
I will need to get Diana over to Bimini too
Unless it’s glass I’m not going two up :confused:
Please keep
Me in the loop if there’s space for her :)

Space for her on the charter flight?

All these women riding their skis over@veedubtek hitching rides. :eek:
I told her to get the dirt out of her Hoo Haa and step up but she said it was to hard to drink a beer and smoke cigars on the crossing on a ski that it was much easier on your boat.

my group was following the Donzi....took about 6.5 hours...I was the last one with extra fuel and about 6 miles out the boat chased me down and had me hold up so they could use my fuel. I actually made it over on 13.3 gallons. We hit some 6/9 foot swells but not near as bad as crossing the middle of the Okeechobee! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

6.5 hours and you only used 13.3 gallons that's insane. Sounds like a crazy ride hopefully this years is much easier!

Turns out George Poveromo's Bimini Episode from 2017 is on Youtube now.

Hurricane Irma has repositioned some of the entrance buoys to North Bimini. You should follow your plotter instead of the buoys since at least one buoy is now on a sand bar.
