I have a 2019 Yamaha 242 E series and put in an AGM battery for my house battery that was weak. The Yamaha dealer said you can't put AGM batteries into the 2019 Yahama's as their is an incompatibility issue with the stator on the engine. I can't find anywhere to back this up. Anyone have info on this? They also said you need both batteries to be either AGM or lead acid even when it is compatible. I don't trust my local dealer so looking for info. Thanks!

Never heard of that. I would definitely make both batteries the same type

The AGM charge profle is almost exactly the same as Flooded Lead Acid and most deep cycle batteries are AGM. Im pretty sure your dealer is confusing AGM and LiFePO4. That being said LiFePO4 works great on our boats for the house battery as long as you modify the DVSR circuit.
