So I took delivery of a brand new 2020 Yamaha 195S at the end of February. All of our parks and boat ramps are closed so we have not been able to put it into the water. I have no idea how it performs or how reliable it will be. I'm hoping Yamaha takes that into consideration once this pandemic is over and done with. Essentially paying for a boat I cannot use. I put fuel stabilizer in the tank and keep the battery on a charger.

That's a tough one. It seems some fresh water ramps are closed but salt water ramps, at least here, are open. I don't know how Yamaha could discriminate by extending some warranties and not others.

It would probably be similair to class action law suits. You would have to submit some sort of documentation to prove how you were impacted. The LCRA here in south Texas posts updates to their website. Not too difficult to document closures.

Knock on wood, I have not had a single warranty issue in the 4 + years I have owned it. I do have the 5 year yes warranty as well that was given as a promo. I think your thinking of a non issue. Besides its not Yamaha's fault for Covid 19. Sometimes its just the phrase "it is what it is. "

We are taking delivery this Saturday, signed the paperwork in January. Yamaha gave us, without asking, a free YES Warranty, maybe in anticipation of the issue you're describing. I would call Yamaha and ask them for the same, or at the very least, have them document your current situation.

We had a choice of the free YES warranty or 5 year 1.99% low interest financing. We opted with the lower financing thinking we would take the extended warranty if the boat had any issues during the first year. Just a little frustrated like I'm sure everyone else is. Two weeks after we picked up the boat Yamaha announces a $2000 incentive to drive sales that we don't qualify for. No one in their right mind would purchase a new car knowing they had to leave it parked for months in their garage. Boats see so little use anyway and are typically fair weather craft. We use ours year round here in Texas. Honda has offered us extensions and dealer courtesy visits. Thought maybe Yamaha might do the same. This is our first new boat in 23 years. Just would like a chance to break it in. Hopefully this Wuhan Chinese virus pandemic ends shortly.

Yeah, I declined the warranty and the financing options and made the dealership give me the best deal and financed it through a CU. But we didn't ask for the YES warranty, in fact, I called the dealership when we got the paperwork in the mail kinda pissed because I thought they had signed us up for something I now had to cancel.

IMO your not going to have any problem. These are great boats and well built. If you have any issues they are going to be found pretty quickly but I seriously doubt you will. The only issue I have had with my 2019 242 LSE is the frame for the top had a rupture due to a bad weld but I think that is Xtremetoweres and not Yamaha.... I hope this helps you relax just a little. It's too stressful right now as it is ;)

@gwrace1 .....what about purchasing an extended Yamaha Factory Warranty? You can get 1,2,3 and 4 year extensions. Given the situation and the price you put down for that 195S maybe your dealer would give you whatever extension you chose for their dealer's price. Even if you only extended it a year you might sleep better? I got a deal on a five year warranty but that was included in the purchase negotiations.
