I have a relatively new Yamaha AR210 that has about 20 hours. I have been having trouble docking the boat and I believe it is because the engines are responding the opposite way that I was expecting. I took a quick video yesterday. With the port engine forward, and the starboard engine reverse, the boat turns left (port). Isn't this backwards? Am I wrong? Anyone else have this problem? Thank you for any insights.

Looks like your throttle controls are connected to the wrong engines? Just start one motor and see if the corresponding throttle revs the started engine. Also confirm the correct engine starts.

Well that's a new one - should be easy enough to check though. With boat off, put port throttle all the way forward. Then go back to the boat and feel to see if the port bucket is all the way up.

Good call. I didn't even think about the buckets on my comment.

😮 wow!

So as commented above you need to rule out if it’s the throttle, reverse bucket or both cables that are wired incorrectly.

Once identified, I am thinking the fix would be at the throttle binnacle. If you search “throttle drop fix” there is a thread on here with detailed instructions on how to remove the binnacle as well as the cables.

Good luck!
