I use my rod holders for gimble mounted downriggers. The plastic liners are obviously not designed for this load. Anyone know of a good stainless 30 degree replacement? My previous Key West came with metal holders so I didn't even think to check that my FSH would have such a fragile liner.

Yep, learned that the hard way the first time I took the FSH fishing, when I used to own a FSH.

They use cheap plastic rod holder liners...guess they antipated bass fishermen only
I agree. Really pisses me off but I shouldn't be surprised that they hide the cheap stuff to meet the price point.

Did you find a good replacement rod holder?
Was thinking of doing a swivel one.

Not yet but will post if do.
My cannon downriggers mount to a swivel head and then to the gimble which is inserted in the rod holder. They work great and can easily be inserted/removed when needed.

Found a couple of websites for OEM parts online. For Canada is Shopyamahaparts. Click on "shop parts" and then "boats" to access the menu. The main page does not reference yamaha boats so you have to follow the instructions I provided.
US site is called Yamahapartshouse.com. (Babbits online). Both sites have itemized pics of all parts of the boat so appears idiot proof. My dealer says he can get me a metal one so waiting to hear back from him first.

I have the Attwood stainless flush mount rod holders, purchased on Amazon for $35 per. Mine are 15deg but they also have 30deg. These things are very stout, can't imagine they would let go unless maybe you ran into a dock with a steel pole in there!
