Crazy pre-boat arrival spending - I need therapy

Plush? Only if you don't really care about your boat. You certainly need cashmere ones. :shamefullyembarrased:

@tdonoughue ..... Oh yeah, "plush" nothing is too good for my boats :-) I was buying West Marine "best quality" fender covers which we sold with our last cruiser (had 10 fenders). For the Yamaha the Admiral went to Walmart, bought soft black towels and made four fender covers in a couple of hours. Worked for me.

I don't know what your family/friend situation is like now, or will be after everyone sees that you got a boat, but since you're building a garage I would build it big enough for a boat upgrade in the future. A 195s will fit in that size garage prefect, but in 5 years or so a 25 footer with a tower is much longer and taller. Make sure the header above the door is as high as you can get it. A 195s is just under 7ft with the tower folded, but a 255 is almost 10ft.

Just a thought since none of us bought our second boat first.

It's much cheaper to build for the future than to modify it later.

Where do we order the jetboaters.net branded wify trim tabs? ;)

Same store you can get a vacuum or ironing board. If you really want to leave an impression, get yourself a really nice broom, and lean it up against the wall in the garage, then go inside and tell the wife you got her a new vehicle.

just make sure to duck.. Their aim seems to get better the more pissed off they are LOL

Safety:
Standard Horizon HX890 Handheld VHF with GPS - Get an MMSI
Sirius Signal C-1003 One Color eVDSD Distress Light (comes with the distress flag as well. Facilitates USCG requirement for day/night VDS)
Yamaha Branded throwable PFD. It fits nicely in the "pocket" on the backside of the Captains chair

Swag:
2x Seablaze X2 Underwater Lights
Agree on skipping the Yammy floating keychain. Google Monkeyfist Floating Keychain. A bunch of cool ones on Etsy, and more nautical.
More SeaDek! Maybe 1X, 11, 12?
Boatdecal.biz for nice registration numbers?

PS.. I thought I went wild. Haha. Glad to see I am not the only one that is pimping their ride while waiting for the boating weather to arrive!
Congrats on the boat!

One custom item I have never seen mentioned on this forum is custom - color coordinated rope. I ordered 400’ of custom rope from Miami cordage and made up dock lines, fender lines and anchor lines from it. My only complaint was the rope was thicker than ordered making the lines a little oversized.
They look good on the boat though,
FYI - they were slow on delivery, so allow time if any one orders from them. Their “1/2”” rope is way too thick - unless they just screwed up my order. I would probably order the 3/8 if I buy again.
We went a little spend crazy when we first got our Yamaha but we have utilized and feel everything has added to our boating fun. The favorite upgrade however is the Ridesteady without any hesitation we would get that again.
I did find humor in my wife thinking that 5 years in I’m done with upgrades - she is quite the comedian!

That's a really cool idea! They aren't very forthcoming with the cost of such a thing, do you mind sharing what that cost to have done? It says minimum required is 300', but that's an easy amount to utilize.

Color coordinated rope is a must for me.

Yepper, will see you at Lake Anna. Thanks for the sand spike suggestion. I can now spend more money today. LOL

We are expecting our 2021 255XD within the next week. We can't wait to get out to Lake Anna either - maybe we will see you out there one day!

We will predominately be on Lake Anna with our 195S as well once we take delivery. Probably will run to each other on the lake. You also have a sound shop Extreme Audio in Machanicsville, spoke to them Tuesday about upgrading the sound system for the boat.

Depends what your looking for. Yes it can be crowded and rough in places, a couple of good spots to hangout if you want to ply volleyball and hang with a crowd. There's also a couple of quitter sand bars where people anchor as well as many coves which are much quitter. Fortunately or unfortunately we will be on the lake on Fridays as the wife and I are both of that day.

Tons on the Potomac! I am off Fridays as well. Gotta love 4x10

@drewkaree - The custom rope was ordered Feb 2017.

They added 7% tax, and when shipped via UPS they charged the UPS fee - but what they charged was very reasonable - though I don't recall the exact amount I seem to recall around $30. If you can make your own splices, it really doesn't add much cost to quality lines. Their response on estimated shipping times, updates is not very good. Be patient!

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve spent a few K on my boat, and still haven’t launched it. I converted all the trailer lights to LED, put in guide posts with LED’s, sundek mats, name decals, etc. Fenders, 4,5,and 6 ft bungee dock lines, a case of fuel stabilizer, yamalube, boat cleaning and waxing products, 4 wheel chocks, the list goes on and on. Amazon loves me...I might not have any money left to fill the gas tank...damn
