What is the purpose of the mist in the rear? I was thinking it catches diesel soot so it doesn't coat the rear?

Okay, that was driving me nuts... @Murf'n'surf your speculation led me to it... I think I found the answers:

• Conceal the heat from the exhaust in the tunnel
• Help push the exhaust down into the water for better dissolution / quicker cooling of the gases
• Provide a radar screen

If Big Shasta is successful engaging the guys on USNS Spearhead, you will have to edit the list of manufacturers on the cards to include Austal USA!

Do all or most Naval vessels pull into port with that display of fire power? Seems odd to me, almost like they had someone or thing of high importance onboard.

Remember that this is not a normal navy vessel. It is a national asset, one of a very few like it. They will treat this similar to an aircraft carrier security wise.

LOL...Yeah, I would probably refrain from throwing small indiscriminate objects at it. They might not come get you to say thanks....they might shoot first and ask questions later. I'm dedicated to this place but that's ridiculous.
