And one more thing about my trip.

As I am receiving numerous queries about the status of my boat components and upgrades post the trip, especially trim tabs - thought I would comment here, briefly:

Well, I did not find any damage to any of my upgrades after the trip... whatsoever.

  • The Lectrotab trim tabs - zero damage/issues or visible wear. Performed awesome.
  • Cobra AK steering w/Fangs and secondary rod - zero damage/issues. Love those.
  • Ridesteady - the display and all modules - zero damage (I ran on it almost all the way) - love it - allows me to push the throttles all the way up so I never have to worry about those drooping or sliding down while adjusting the speed (RPM) with the knob.
  • Chartplotter/VHF electronics - Raymarine 5M - zero damage/issues - it is very robust; VHF antenna, sound system, docking hull lights etc.
  • CIPA black vision 180 mirror - no damage/issues
  • L13 cones - those are awesome for climbing those big scary rollers, also save fuel as the pumps don't cavitate much in chop.
  • WakeMakers ballast - zero damage. (I had it disconnected with timers/bags removed for the trip.)
  • Secondary bilge pump - zero damage/issues.
  • Trailer - did fine! (With just 2" fender washer/neoprene upgrade, new radials, stoltz bow roller, and the bow post adjustment; replaced one bearing buddy)
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, maybe few things, but so far I just do not see any damage or wear to any of my upgrades.
(Many OEM parts... different story.)

I know some may disagree but trim tabs saved my ass on the trip they were deployed 100% of the time absolutely a MUST if you want a smoother ride

You only forgot the top secret test tower that converts into a hydrofoil:D

I am still assessing damage to my boat, but in terms of Lectrotabs & back up bilge pump I agree with @swatski 100%. The tabs especially were 100% down and I still cannot believe they took that biting. Best $800 of mods.

Confirmed so far ( in addition to the previously mentioned)
  • 4 spots of fiber glass damage to the anchor box ( 2 of them cracks, 2 of them exposed fiberglass coming out). I cannot see light going through though.
  • horn is non functional
  • Factory bilge pump switch is dead
  • loose rails
  • scratched on the interior bow section due to bouncing bow cover pole.
  • bow cover itself has multiple broken snaps
  • part of the front upholstery is damaged bouncing all over the place
  • scratch on the hull ( I think it was the forklift that did that)
  • rust spots are starting to develop
  • partially ripped mooring cover ( I think this was totally my fault though for not securing it properly).

I forgot to mention that I climbed a crosswalk and bumped a gas station post on the way back to Texas. Thanks God I was slow and my trailer made it just fine. I dare say sustained 70-75 mph with gusts of 85-90mph. Very happy with my painted trailer. LOL

NO SIR !
I don't mind at all..

If anyone else wants a much larger map that Hobineros made let me know and I'll look into shipping tubes for them.

I would like one if you don't mind. Let me know the costs. Something to look up to when I get to be 80

Hi Betik,

Did you have your boat hoisted/lifted into the water for Bimini (scratch reference above)? Back when I was thinking about going to Bimini I was looking up places that would do that but didn't find anything (granted I didn't search very hard). I like the look of my painted trailer but worry it wouldn't last long if I dip it in salt water.

We also have rust...our boat is less than four months old. Absolutely unacceptable.

Winter project...remove all the handles, clean the rust off of it, install rubber bushing and reinstall.
Cant wait to crawl into all of those compartments

The first of many deep scratches (1/2 mm) I need to take care of...how do I proceed ? I have a power buffer, the touch up paint and wet sanding paper. I have seen a lot of different options in the forum for taking care of this and am confused.

EDIT : Found the right thread in the forum. Gonna sweat it out the next couple of days on this

@hobineros may have to go into the printing business.

On a serious note, those maps use a lot of toner so they are expensive to produce. Your existing maps are waterproof. If they are not torn washing them and laying flat to dry will make them look better.

Yeah, ours ended up pretty tattered. I figured they were expensive to print, that's why I thought I could ask if there were any extras. It sounds like the ones that Tim H has are already printed.
