My 16 year old daughter is type one too, and is coming, so we're a fully experienced diabetic support crew, too!

Welcome aboard Amat-

If I remember, this is your first 'blue water' experience. With that, and your family, I'd likely lean towards sending them on ferry. On the way back you will have had a lot of blue water stick time and can make adjustments, from experience.

Love to see you pick up one adult from some crew that was going to have 5 (or something).

As we get a month or so out and crews begins to stabilize, we can see if there is a First Mate avail from another boat.

Thanks Glen. Much appreciated. @Batik also suggested the same regarding a first mate.

Btw this would be the first time my son would be interacting for quite a while with another T1 kid. I am sure he would love it very much.

totally did not know about this until 5min ago... @Bill D is the man with all the knowledge!
If you can get the interview done, it is well worth it unless you plan on only making one personal boat trip to a foreign country. Since I got my SVRS card (also known as Local Boaters Option) I have made 5 trips to and from the Bahamas and each time after calling in to report my return I have never had to report to a Customs Office.

FYI - Your SVRS card is linked to your Passport number, so when you renew your Passport you will have to contact or go to a Custom office to have your SVRS card linked to your new Passport number.

My T1 girl is a highly competitive indoor and sand vball player.

T1's can do anything!

@Glen it may make sense to put @Amar Nanduri in your group since you have a unique understanding of his son's needs. Amar may want to stay flexible as to family on the boat versus ferry until we get close enough to have weather predictions. I always consider flying / ferrying the family as an option if the water is too rough. Hopefully the water conditions will be reasonable for nice adventurous but not dangerous crossing. I have offered to Amar and want you to know that you are welcome to store insulin in my fridge. I believe it makes sense to have redundancy in insulin transportation.

Completely agree on the insulin redundancy. Anywhere we travel we take a 1-2 months diabetic supply with us no matter how short or long the trip is. Wife decided she will go inbound the ferry option and keep the return option open to boat crossing.

Well, they took my money at least... Seems to be the trend, LOL!

Looks like the tourism industry is not immune to Ponzi schemes either.

I hope Beth does not see this; otherwise I might get "upgraded" on the far corner of building 21. LOL.

Is this one of those "What happens in Bimini stays in Bimini" kind of situations? :shamefullyembarrased: Sorry, couldn't resist kicking off Saturday morning with bad humor.

Do you know how hard it is to find a guy who has a ski AND actually knows how to ride it?!?
I'll be single for the rest of my life!!! Lol
Do you mean hard to find a "single" guy :)

Ms Valerie, do you ride with Jax Pwc group?

@Bruce needs to add a new dating/companionship section to the forum.

Na there is not a whole lot of single dudes running around with our boats and if they are single they are probably not looking for a real relationship as there typical weekend probably looks more like this.
