I would sign up for thatSounds like we might just need to plan a jet boaters meet up last week of September
I’m in!
Current thought/plan is for us to leave Friday the 20th and be to Page by the end of Saturday. Then be on Powell at least Sunday - Tuesday. My wife said the same thing that Grand Canyon is just a hole in the ground, and I personally I’m impartial to seeing it. So Powell may get extended to Wednesday or Thursday. Then start headin back, stopping in Phoenix for a day with the in-laws. Before making it back to Dallas.I would sign up for that
Greenhaven homes are definitely much nicer, they are also about twice the price lol. Page looks good though. Hotels all show to be $200 per night and Airbnb is $150 for a house. With fees it’s about $200 per night.I would think the best place (regarding proximity to lake access and views) for Airbnb/vrbo would be Greenhaven if you can find anything there. It’s just above Wahweap, maybe a 10 drive at most to boat ramp and nice homes.
The spillway opening ended up close to a disaster as they experienced so much CAVITATION damage they needed to redesign the spillways. Very interesting stuff.
Interesting bit on lake powell I didn't know. It's hard to imagine powell and mead at spillway levels anytime soon.
I’ve been watching it! It’s up over 30 feet from the low point of the year already! I think today is the 15th consecutive day of rise being over a foot per day! It’s great to see it coming back up! And places in the Rockies just received nearly 2 feet of snow on the first day of summer so it may come up even more than 50 feet!Saw this pop up on my Facebook page. Thought I’d share here on this thread.
Lake Powell expected to rise 50 feet from snowmelt
I have not read article yet nor have I ever heard of the site posting it.
That would be fantastic!!!!The best case forcast from this site shows just under 25 ft below full pool next summer. Most probable is 75 ft low. That's a huge amount of water.
Mead is definitely low but hasn’t seemed like filling that lake has been important at all. Mojave and Havasu are (and usually stay) full or very close to it.Except down stream lakes are way down too, so they’ll probably keep the outflow going same as it is now later in the year when it’s not filling as fast. Hopefully not though.
