I'm glad someone resurrected this thread, I've not seen it or thought about lighting the trailer like this. We come in right at dark most times and the lighting at the dock isn't great. Now I'm going to have to explain another Amazon package to my wife.

Am getting ready to redo the wiring on my trailer anyway....love this idea! I think a simple switch up on the front on the trailer would be easy enough to do and then no worries about getting pulled over for sure. Great job!

Amber is completely road legal so you can't go wrong there.

I did it, and the wife thought it was a good idea.

I mounted mine strips on the center set of bunks.


I only want them on when I have the trailer in the water, so I installed an Attwood automatic bilge switch, to not have to worry about a float bouncing while driving down the road.


Here's it lit up.

Since they have a sequential option for use with turn signals, if I can figure out a way to keep it dry, I'm going to put a turn signal relay inline so that they literally look like landing strip lights.

Genius!!!! Looks like I found my next project. I doubt I'll get any push back from the wife since it will be "totally for her benefit" when putting the boat on the trailer at night! lol

After five years I need to replace the LED strips that I installed in 2015.

Not a bad service life for $27!

High Failure rate, or surprising longevity with chinese garbage getting dunked in the water or bouncing down the road.

Mine worked, they just lost the sickness and started to come off the aluminum. And I didn't like how I had it wired up in the front.
