I heard that you shouldn't tow tubers from the tower. I also was told that it was fine to tow them from the tower. Do you know which is right?

@Dan S Yamaha says not to. Between the weight of the tube & the riders it puts it over the limit. If any damage occurs from doing so, most likely it wouldn't be covered.

Very Sweet!

Hello! New owner of a 2015 242 LS as of last week, and so new to the forum/community. I know these things were designed and marketed to have it all as delivered...but has anyone pimped theirs out even more? So far, I did install a commode in the head enclosure...and I did permanently mount the fire extinguisher provided by my the dealer in the steering console storage compartment. Also, still waiting on a black "Premium Deluxe" boat cover that is supposedly back-ordered until after the New Year. Did anyone get one for their 2015? I am using the shipping cover, which is fine...but is already tearing around the tower slits. Lastly, any anchor recommendations?

How did your purchase go with M2OMarine? I'm in the process of purchasing an AR 240 from Ian. He seems like a great guy. I am surprise you're totally okay taking your boat in saltwater. I am also close to the ocean, but can't get myself to think about it. Are you worried the saltwater is going to shorten the life of your boat?

Nice touch on the dash.....im planning a similar mod this winter.

@Jrash good luck on your purchase. And welcome to the fold. That AR240 is an awesome boat.

I have 20+ hours on my 2015...all Saltwater. What should I be worried about? She gets cleaned properly after every trip. I had jet ski's back in the day, always used them in salt water.

I rock saltwater every weekend. Wouldn't have it any other way. Sure, maintenence is a bit higher, but to me is worth it. My boat is a 2010, and my pumps look brand new. I flush the boat with salt terminator EVERY time is used. The trailer takes the worst of it. It's galvanized, but still the brakes, leaf springs and hubs can take a beating. The key is to stay proactive.

It is what it is, there's a higher maintenance cost in mostly our time but there are no worries that the boat will become a pile of corrosion. Most inland fresh water guys think it's hazardous to boat in salt, it's not, you just need to use your head and do your flushing and rinsing.

Got my JL Audio tower speakers in. Now I just need to find time to install them.
