My 2015 Yamaha 242 Limited S

Gorgeous.

@sysinu I go on a trip to both Wahweap and Bullfrog every year and after every time I don't know why I keep going back to Wahweap. Bullfrog is so much better!

so can you go through that rock tunnel?
Earlier in the year I could have but the water came up to much. I might be able to if I lower the tower.

California needs to get going on desalination plants before your state is all dried up!

You guys are killing me with the awesome pics! Love the 2015 in both grey and black. Part of me wants to stop by the dealer to see what it would take to get into a 2015, but I know it won't be anything short of 20k and I can't justify that unless I was getting into a much larger boat. But I want to...

I'll take the 2012 Limited off your hands for 20K

@Lextacy03 I'm thinking he meant he would have to come up with 20K to upgrade to a 2015. Not that he would only get 20k.

I could have fit in here. But my wife was freaking out. The cave went back about 50ft and then turned and looked like it around another 100ft or so.

Finally came in today and after all day setting it up and detailing it is finally ready.

I will use this thread to show it's progression from delivery through all its mods.

Great looking boat. I just ordered a 2015 Yamaha 242 Limited S. Should come around January. I had a SeaRay 23 ft. Was a great boat but I got the itch for a jet boat.
Looked at a lot of videos of the yamaha and loved it. So I sold the SeaRay to my sister.
Can't wait for it to come.
One question, Where is the air intake vent for the engines and does it come out under the rear facing seats ?

Welcome aboard @Dan S. There are a few of us that already have the 2015 242's in hand and everyone of us is enjoying the heck out of them. Yamaha made some significant enhancements that we are enjoying. It will be interesting to see your point of view coming from a comprable Sea Ray. The Yami's don't have a particular air intake but they do vent out under the rear facing seats on the swim platform.

My SeaRay had a 300 hp engine and a Bravo 3 drive with counter rotating props. Tracked very well but if I hit something replacing the props would cost $1300.00.
Since the Yamaha weighs quite a bit less how does it handle rough water. On Sacandaga lake we can get 2,3 waves regularly and even 4' waves on occasion.

@Dan S Congrats you will love it for sure. They handle rough water very well due to their deep v hull design. And the articulating keel design helps the straight line tracking.

The air intake is under port rear backrest. The blowers vent under the starboard rear backrest.

What color did you order?

I assumed he was talking about an air induction system. Thanks for clarifying.
