Speaking of bad info, the woman who was helping me get my vehicles registered, tried to convince me that my 1/2 Ton pickup should be registered as a class 5. Can some of you PA guys help shed some light on this. I ended up registering as a class 3. Still think this was incorrect. 2016 GMC, heavy half ton, non commercial and the biggest trailer I tow is the boat.

I do this kind of stuff for a living, yeah...majority are registered as a 5, does not mean you cant request to be done as a 4 or even a 3, dealers always go to the higher class.

Wow, that’s good to know. My 1/2 Ton is rated for 12 towing and 18 combined, but I’ll never see that. I towed 10k just a handful of times while working on some landscaping projects around the house. After that, it is just the boat and utility trailer.

I was taken back a bit when she suggested I go class 5. I even went around a Home Depot parking lot to see if any other P/U’s had class 5 stickers. Never saw one. I thought she was confusing two different things. Thanks for the heads up.
