I literally never use the VHF. . . .so I am open to suggestions on best channel to use.

That's funny because I have never used it either. I believe that channel 16 is monitored by the coast guard, so I would keep away from that. Other than that maybe someone else can chime in with an opinion.I literally never use the VHF. . . .so I am open to suggestions on best channel to use.

Did we make a decision on which day we're going yet
So, while I feel terrible for the guys that can only do Saturday. . . . . I think the best option is Sunday at this point. Weather can still shift, but with warmer temps, more Sun, less chance of rain, and calmer winds. . . . Sunday looks best.
Since I dont trust accuweather or weather.com this far out I spoke to a meteorologist friend of mine and confirmed the likelihood of the forecast changing significantly is minimal.
Hi @0627Devildog Is Saturday a tolerable day for boating? If so, I don't mind going on Saturday itself and follow the paths you have mapped nicely in this discussion. As we have 5 hour drives coming back late Sunday night, making kids go to School on Monday morning will be a considerable challenge.
While I think the wind/surf conditions (while not ideal) will be tolerable. . . . . We are planning on clocking a lot of miles. With a significant chance of heavy rains and temps in mid 60's. . . The prospect of the kids being cold and wet for several hours back to port with little sun and chance of warmth has me leaning to Sunday personally. That said, I am local and can wait til the day prior to decide as both days are open for me. If I was forced to pick a day right now though Id say Sunday.
