Is the trip from Miami to bimini and no further? Or is bimini just a stop?
Please start with the link below. Most likely your boat is not ready to make the trip.
Once you get comfortable with this thread, you might want to start reading on the trip specific threads for 2015,2016,2017,2018. There is a lot of good info there to help you and your crew prepare for the trip.
In a couple of months the admins will announce the dates. Until then I would strongly suggest that you read the preparation threads instead of watching YouTube videos. On YouTube you only see the best of best. People put the camera down when the shit hits the fence and that is what you need to prepare for. We all pray for a 2018 June crossing but we ought to prepare for a 2017 crossing.

I have watched evey video i can find, i have read alot on here. And have a long list in my shopping cart of items i need to purchase before making the trip.
gf and i are looking for a adult(kid free) trip as well.My two year old went this year to Bimini and last year at 1 to Abaco. He spent the entire week riding on the boat no issue but he did not cross I flew him and mom across. That being said if I had the chance to do one of these trips just my wife and I no kids I would jump all over it that would make it a completely different trip. We are doing Exuma this coming year again and right now I plan on taking him on that trip as well but after what I just said it really has me thinking if I can leave the kids and do just an adults trip hmmm.
Yes it way early to start this but I’m planning on the 2019 trip this year, coming from Dayton, Oh looking to see if anybody from the general area is going and interested in trucking down as group, could be from Kentucky, Indiana, etc, could pick up more on way down, thought it would be great way to meet people going before actually getting there. Plan on stopping half way to break up trip.
Hello newbie here…. Really interested in 2019 Bimini trip. How this work and what need to be done to participate in the trip. Thanks for any info
I would say the best starting point is this

Possible, but unless conditions are really good (very smooth) it can be a little bit daunting at first.Pretty good and straight forward info thank you ….. Will it be smart or even possible to cross to Bimini on sx190 with 4 peoples?
I'm in Lanesville, IN and am planning to go this year as well. It looks like some folks already have an independent June trip planned. I really don't care where it is (Bimini or elsewhere).We're on the fence about joining the Bimini trip this year. Budget and Vacation time are the limiting factors at this point. Considering it for an adults vacation since the boys are 7yrs and 7mo currently.
We're based out of Louisville. We could head over and grab 75S to join the caravan, or if the caravan came down 71 to 65S we're less than 20miles from that route.
We're actually in Georgetown, over near the Drive-In. I think we've discussed this before.I'm in Lanesville, IN and am planning to go this year as well. It looks like some folks already have an independent June trip planned. I really don't care where it is (Bimini or elsewhere).

@Jason Winn (?)@swatski and @ThatJeepGuy guy crossed on a 190 in 2016.
In 2017 someone whose handle I forget crossed on 190 FSH and they were 3 full size adults. They bounced a lot and had some bruises upon arrival, but they did make it. I think it depends how well prepared your crew is ready to handle bouncing every 4 seconds for maybe 4 hours. That being said, if you decide to cross I would keep supplies to minimum.
@Jason Winn (?)
The guy's tougher than nails, to have done that. I don't think I could do that, and like most would turn around. But yes, it can be done in a 190, even in pretty rough conditions like during 2017 crossing.

I wouldn't hesitate to take a 190 across again. But be prepared. Prepared to take a beating on the crossing, pack light, bring extra fuel. Plan to get wet. And be sure to have a fixed VHF, it's a must. 4 people in my opinion might be pushing your limit depending on their size. Also be prepared to answer the question "you crossed over in that?!?!". If there was only one reason I miss my 190 it wouldbe to tell everyone that I went to the Bahamas on a 19" boat...
the word on the street is that crew was crawling on the bow to get the boat on plane and @chris24 was repairing a windshield outside BS......
LOL oh he did love to WOT that boat I wonder if he sold it yet. Things got real tonight as we booked lodging in Staniel's Cay for this year #Exuma2019 is starting to go down.
