Post Your Summer Boating GoPro Shorts

Man, I wish I had been on the boat with you guys. It is fun laughing at friends and being laughed at. Remember to protect your face when you go down.
One day I'll take my my ole Canon 7D out so I can get some of those great facial expression shots when we're falling :D. Surfing is such a fun thing to do and thankfully the spills aren't bad. Bill ate some wake sammich on a few of those but so glad he got ropeless!

Looks like you put your own video quality myth to bed. 1080/60 looked pretty darn good on that video. Nice work.

Thanks and glad you enjoyed it! Youtube kills the detail compared to the rendered final video.

I hear you. I was going through some raw footage the other day on my Ipad Pro and was blown away at the quality before editing and uploading.

Yes the artifacting has gotten worse over the years on YT. Ironically if you're a big time YT'r there is no quality loss or so it it seems :/

What's strange is on the surf video is as soon as it went live I had a slew of strange retweets and questionable "Likes" on my Twitter feed (it's linked to my YT account) from local environmental and water pollution control agencies o_O. Strangely a few days later some dolt came into the YT comment section of the surf video and said "Man, I'm sure people with docks and seawalls love you jack-legs" to which I responded "We don't do this by someone's dock or property. That's a d*ck move just like jumping to assumptions. Way to judge someone....". A day later I get a Content Strike on my YT account (not Copyright Claim which I'm totally OK with and fully support) from my previous Smith Lake meetup video which has now been pulled from YT. Being Partnered on YT the Content Strikes can kill my account and privileges! Ironically the strike thinks it's from a Jimmy Fallon show :eek::mad:!! WTF! Not sure if the two strange occurrences are related but I blocked them all from my Twitter account. Guess I'll just have to make some remixes from now on so I don't have rogue environmentalists trying to kill my account.

The drone footage really highlights the sea walls and docks in that area. ;) Lol

I really wonder what people did with their time before they could troll the internet looking for things to complain about.

Got a Yi 4K last week and put together my first video from last Sunday. I filmed it 1080p/60 then used Handbrake to encode it with H.264 to get the size down. It came out a little longer than I wanted but I look forward to making more this summer.

Clowns on the River. My son in law strapped a cheap Go Pro to his head and went wake boarding.

Learning some new software and put this together. Not all boating but quite a bit. Just a celebration of kids. @JetBoatPilot will probably recognize a couple locations.

Gopro's Quik is another cool app that creates videos in seconds.

It selects clips from several videos and photos you give it and syncs them to music. You can also customize to select which clips you want included

What SW were you trying out?

Cyberlink Power director. Really awesome so far. Far more advanced than the Windows Movie Maker I was using.

Nice first shot with Power Director. I just switched to it from Movie maker as well. I was doing all of mine in MM, or iMovie. I realize I need more powerful hardware when working with these bigger files for sure. I cranked this one out in Power Director from last weekend. It works well and the quality is maintained.

Good luck guys, keep the vids coming!

Here is some footage from boating down in the Gulf (Panama City Beach, FL) this week.
