A local guy killed this huge rattlesnake in the middle of the lake today next to some skiers in the water. I've never seen one out in the middle of the lake as they usually don't waste that kind of energy if they don't have to and like to stick to the coves and shorelines. Be careful out there folks!

We live within stones throw of the lake and there are plenty of snakes around. We have killed a couple over 20 years but are generally just attentive and don't see the need to kill every snake we encounter as that would take up a lot of our time and not be a good thing.

This will make you cringe.....the title is incorrect as this is in Michigan.
