Reverse module error

So I turn my key on and get e electronic reverse module error. I put the shifter in override mode, shift forward and backwards and the module doesn't move. I disconnected the cable and the bucket moves. The battery has a full charge. Any ideas?
It was the battery that triggered it for us.
we forgot to turn the battery off last use and something was left on (maybe the radio) and drained it just enough to set the alarm.

It's right next to the battery switch. It's a 2" x 2" square black box with a red button sticking out. Feel just underneath it and if it is tripped a lever will be present. Push this up. See picture below. Blue arrow points to the breaker and the red button. Orange arrow is where you want to feel and push up to reset. Pushing the red button will trip the breaker which you can reset by pushing the lever up.

You're welcome.

Here’s the relays.
Mine wouldn’t let me start engines and showed e reverse module error.
I replaced them all and working fine now.
John: Thanks for the picture re. the relay modules. As soon as I input these, the E reverse error went away. Took your advise and purchased the Omron brand relays. Apparently they are taller than the original modules as the cover for this fuse box will not fit. Will use rubber bands, etc. to keep it in place. Who ever at Scarab ordered the faulty relay modules has caused many of their owners alot of frustration! Mine is a 2020. My hope is they aren't inputting the same relay modules.

I am having the same issue. which relays and where are they located? Thank you

2016 Scarab 255 - Morning all - one more here with the reverse module fault ?‍♂️. When it first faulted, I turned motors off for 5 mins, restarted and it worked… for about 5 mins then faulted again. Turned motors off for 15 mins, still faulted. Ran both batteries in combination and it started working….. for about 10 mins then it faulted again and now, regardless of time off still not working. One battery was nearing its life, so I replaced it, other battery was at full charge, but its still not working. I am going to replace the relays this morning but wanted to check if there were any other thoughts based on how it started to fail??? It’s odd to me that it would stop and start working multiple times…

Had same issue for last few days. Bought 2 new batteries that were definitely overdue at 5 years old. Bought relays from Napa and ordered extras on Amazon, none of that fixed problem, I even left batteries disconnected overnight like a poster said somewhere on the forum. Last thing I tried last night fixed it, the damn kill switch. Pull it off and put it back on, turn my switch back on and the error was gone. Fired up both motors and reverse magically worked.
Not sure why the engines would run and go forward if the switch was loose or maybe it’s faulty. Idk but so relieved that I’m not going to dealer.

Thanks - Just tried, unfortunately didn’t work. I tested all my relays, and they are good also. Starting to think it might actually be the module itself. Which unfortunatly seems to be about a $1k problem ?‍♂️

Going to leave batteries completely unhooked for 24hrs next. Fingers crossed!

Sadly, it didn’t work. I’m out of ideas at this point. Guess I’ll be taking it in for service. Will update when I have more info.

My reverse module issue seems to be the same as others. My boat is a 2016 Scarab HOI Wake with 2-250HP engines. Time on the engines: 65 hours. I've had the boat since new. I went to start it before taking it to the lake and I got the dreaded eREverse Module Error. (No codes show up on the display, just this message as well as the other normal display information) The battery was low so that evidently could be a reason. So I bought a new battery, charged it to full and tried again. Same message. It did not go away from the first time. I checked the fuses, all good and I replaced the two relays with generic ones and had same issue. I have since purchased the OEM Omron relays G8V-RH-1C7T-R-DC12 and should get them in the next couple days and will replace with them and try again. One other thing I tried was disconnecting the battery for 24 hours in the hope it would reset things. That did not work. I tried the lanyard and it is pushing the plunger all the way in so that is not the issue. Are there any other troubleshooting methods I can try? Also, once this issue is flagged by the computer is there a re-set I can perform or would I need the dongle and software to preform a reset? Thanks, Walt

I got mine fixed. Turns out the motor inside the module locked up and melted one of the nylon drive gears. Replaced it with a $20 motor on amazon and had my son 3-D print a new gear. Works nearly perfect now. Every once and a while it jams up, but I believe I only need to adjust the screw on the shaft so it doesn't bind when quickly changing from R to F.

Scarab 255 i have ereverse fault please help me what i will do code c2146

@Micak Reverse fault codes are very common sadly. It seems to be the default fault code if ANYTHING goes wrong that isn't properly categorized. I'd start with your battery and getting it tested. Also check all connections to the battery.

Well, add me to the list of those currently having the e-Reverse module error. 2017 243vrx with twin 250s (150 hrs ea.) left me out on the water in limp mode with a max speed of 5mph. Odd thing was reverse moved the boat forward as well... I had it pulled for services and the batteries checked out fine (1 yr old). Service came back and said the reverse cable had come off and was fixed (right!). We had it put back in the water and 2 hours after family surfing and tubing we were right back to e-reverse module error. Shutting all power down for 2 minutes and starting it back up clears all the codes and lets you back to full throttle but once you come down to idle it goes to limp mode again. Just ordered new relays to see if this may fix my issue.

Did you ever fix the issue? If so let me know what worked.

Hello: I own a 2020 Scarab 215ID and have been battling the infamous E Reverse Error. Like others, I replaced the 4 20 amp modules and had some success, but e reverse soon returned. There is a Scarab guru at the corporate headquarters (he apparently mainly handles warranty claims, but also takes tech calls) since this stupid company has very few dealers unless you live in Yankton, SD; stupid!
He stated the codes need to be cleared. Since they are BRP engines, this apparently can be done at a dealer that sells Sea Doos. Will see if this works.
No wonder Yamaha owns the jet boat market!

The dealer stated that an iNR module needed replaced. They mentioned the faulty iNR module was not allowing the engines to "go into gear properly" (I'm guessing they meant the buckets to function properly) and could not clear any codes associated with. The iNR module has been replaced and all codes are clear with a test run at their marina. I am scheduled to pick the vessel up tomorrow. Lets hope this will keep my family happy for the rest of the 2024 season...
