Scarab's Facebook page is slowly releasing information on this new boat. There is a post on the page about Boating Magazine currently doing a test of this new open 255.

Are those tower support poles braced at the bottom? Wouldn't want them to fall on someone or break the windshield after they work loose.

That boat looks huge, or maybe the guy at the helm is really small

Price? Any leaks from dealers?

I think they start at $49,999 and go all the way up to $79,999 for a fully loaded 500hp version.

I absolutely love the look and layout of this boat. I don't know why... I have never been interested in a CC. I don't fish. But Dang, this looks legit!

@veedubtek this thing looks pretty sweet! I guess we are hitting the boat shows this year. Ugh now I guess I gotta sell a lightly used 2017 AR240.

This thing looks really sweet. It seems like it would take a lot of friends to make it seem crowded. I don't however get the tailgate thing. I thought the swim decks on the 195/215/255's were pretty nice. When the tailgate is down, doesn't it make the ladder unusable?

I had a short conversation with some corporate dude that goes on the scarab facebook page and he messaged me that more and more pictures will be dropped and they did a good bit of video that should be dropped about october. He said everyone is having a blast with the boat though!
As far as the ladder is concerned i agree it would be a pain to flip it up every time my kids want back in especially as they love jumping off the boat all day!
It does however make a really big swim platform! I mean, the swim deck is one of the best key features that made jet boats a big hit from the beginning!

I personally want to see how big the head/changing room is. And what Yamahas response is!

I used to think that ladder is an issue when they first did it with their 19' CC, but in reality - it is not a big deal. The tail gate drops down to couple inches above the water, so most anyone will have absolutely no trouble crawling back into the boat. And worst case - need to lift the gate.
We hardly ever use the ladder under the swim platform in my 240 for the same reason.

I think it's cool! Yamah should have just done the 24-25' and been done with it. Now they are playing catchup.

It starts at $50k and maxed out with every option is $75k which includes 500 hp, 18" touch screen, surf stream enhancement system, 21 rod holders, subwoofer and big stereo and a ton of other stuff.

lol. I was just about to post those too. I'll add the corresponding text. I'm seriously infatuated with this boat right now. Yamaha really screwed up this year.

New 2018 Scarab 255 (25') Open Center Console Fishing/Family/Watersport's/WakeSurf crossover boat package!
The 255 Open will have a starting price of $49,999.00 for the base boat package. That is $10k above the Yamaha base boat. The same difference between the Yamaha sx 210 and the Yamaha sx240. The big difference is this is a 25' boat with a gold down tail gate bringing usable space to almost 27'! Massive platform! The largest difference is yamaha will decide what options you get in their three models! Everything else must be added at the dealer or customer level. With the Scarab "G" series you get to pick no trailer, a Saltwater trailer or painted, a porta-potty or pump out. But their identity series allowed you to add almost 100 options at the factory saving you a huge amount of money because their is no Labor to install! I can choose from 8 colors, three stereos, three mattings, three engine packages (300,400,500 hp choices) giving a top speed of 44, 54 or 59 mph top speed. The Yamaha 210 offers you 44 on the paddle wheel (41 gps). I can sell you the Scarab 255 Open at $49k, $54k, $59k, $64k, $69k or a fully loaded every option in model at $74,999.00 with 18" touch screen dash, 500 hp, tow tower t-top, scarab mat, 21 rod holders, Kicker stereo wit 6-6" speakers, sub woofer and tower speakers, ski mode, Surf stream wake enhancer, stadium seating bow seating for 6 with table, bow casting deck full conversion, 32psi wash-down (instead of 7psi) and a Saltwater ready trailers with aluminum rims and so much more! It just depends on how you want your boat equipped! I have an Endless summer sales event right now going on that saves you $1000 additional off any custom built Scarab or any 2018 Yamaha before it ships! Give me a call if your interested! 337-349-3144

I'm still waiting to see fuel capacity if they increased it to 80 gallons or more man that would be a great set up.

Very innovative! Very intriguing...

Are we sold on the center console then? I mean, i was and still am surprised the companies went to center console designs!
Obviously an open bow is family friendly. A closed bow would add weight and reduce seating capacity. I am getting sold on this center console idea yet but this boat does look good! I think from his comments that someone there reads some forums!
I really hope this boat is at the boat show here come january or whenever it is, because coming from a 21' boat i think this is one of those things you gotta just feel!
I will take the $75k version for the 50k price tag k thanks

Where are the fishing features? Concept of the "Open" was to accommodate fishing...correct? With all those seats...it's a pleasure cruiser. Swing and a miss!
