I am going to have two 10 inch kickers installed. The only place I know we’re not going to put them is behind the captains seats since one is for the built in cooler ? and my Yeti big bag fits behind the passenger seat. Have any other locations been used besides the obvious place on that the U seating? Not sure what it’s called. Credit to my wife for the organization schematic.

I know it isn't a flat surface, but if a trim ring could be made to fit the contour, how would a sub sound in the area in red? The anchor locker is above that area so it would have be an IB sub, but curious how the sound would travel? I saw the install where @wallacerb placed them higher up where the anchor locker is but I dont think anyone has installed it in that section.

I have two 10” Rockford M2’s. One at U on battery side and another at anchor. Anchor area has a bend in fiberglass on 242. Installer used starboard to straighten out.

Have you thought about the port and starboard side (next to the captain's chairs) This is a 212SD but I would think it would work on the 250.IMG_2460.JPG

Wow, you definitely have things organize. One possible suggestion that isn't related to the sub. Have you looked into putting the sand shark in the wet storage where you access the clean out ports? I saw someone else mount two tool holders and snap the sand shark into them. He said that he did it so he didn't need to worry about any rips/scratches that could come from dropping the sand shark in the boat. Of course once I though about it, I went to Home Depot the next day.

Have you had any problems with people kicking the front sub? Not sure yet how often people use the front ladder. Mainly asking about young kids. I figured one would be in the U seating. So far the kids love the front until they need shade. Since they are the free air does the rear sound better or I guess less anchor rattle?

That looks like a good spot for one. How does it sound? Is two subs overkill? It’s only a few hundo more to get the second so I was thinking why not. I guess I am more concerned about the rattling of everything else. Just want it to sound good as I’m sure I’ll be told to turn it down.

I have started to store the sand shark in the wet storage by the clean outs. I have the Supersport so its a great idea but sand gets stuck in it and so far its been a PIA to get it to slide together after use. Ive had to WD40 it after each use and I’m over it. But it will do until I buy a slide anchor spike or off brand. I did see the post from @Sotally Tober and I like that use of the wet storage.

You would break a toe if you broke the thick plastic on this brand of speaker. But they also came with metal covers that I am not using. With anchor secured in slots there is no rattling. Was concerned about that and ready to put some sort of foam in there. I also have two 8” horn speakers at lower level on both left and right seating area. FYI, yes get two subs. Minimal cost for the overall investment.

Boom.... there it is, lol.
How does it sound? If you didn't have the second sub would that one alone be worth it?

Sub is always gonna be helpful. But If you only have it in the rear I don’t think it will be enough for the folks up front. I just took it out in middle of lake to really test it. Just installed. Sounds incredible.

I am struggling with this, but lets clear some things up.

The starboard is storage and not a built in cooler. On the 252 the sub comes factory behind the passenger seat but is a curved face so need special baffle. In either instance. In either instance you would not lose any storage space.

I think there is no where near enough depth to mount on the port or starboard walls, like the picture above. Depth seems to only be a few inches on these boats. Even then, with the piano black trim coming down I think this could only happen on the starboard side and a 10 would be a tight fit.

That leaves your rear storage compartments having the subs face each other.

Use spacers out of starboard.

Personally I wouldn’t do this unless you painted them to match. Starboard works great but looks tacky especially against nice gel coat.

Can’t see spacer at all unless I take camera and photo from side like I did. The spacer is black.

Here's what I did for sandbar connections:

I used about a 3" PVC. Cut 4' in length. On bottom, cut a ~9" angle, bottom to top, that creates a "point." Use PVC to make a T handle at the top, but don't hard connect them. Drill holes at top in the T handle and in the post, use a hitch pin to secure them.

Even in the super shallow "wet storage" on my 212S, I can fit two of these, 4' pipes laying flat, T handles in the cleanout port holes. The hollow PVC pipe doesn't bring in sand and holds the boat VERY well.

Easy to push in the water too - just push and rotate back and forth at an angle.

I'm happy with the sound. I was not looking for knock you out of park bass....just enough to compliment the highs and lows. I do have a separate gain control for the sub and I usually have it about half way. If I turn it all the way up, you definitely know a sub is present. Have not experienced any rattles at the highest gain either. It should also be noted that I kept the stock WetSounds Recons but did replace the stock WetSounds Amp with a WetSounds HTX-6 amp.

Before I committed to this location, I got in the storage are of the port and starboard and looked back towards the stern and knew I had enough clearance on either side. I'm not familiar with the 25 footers but I would check that out before you commit.

Little late on the follow up but happy to report music sounds great now. My installer was able to get me in the last week of June so it would be ready for the 4th of July vacation!

I had already replaced the 6 6.5 crap Jensen or ASA brand with Kicker 65W replacements and had the installer add two Kicker 10 inch free air subs to the starboard bench seat. Saved some dough and went with a Stinger SPX 1000x5 amp. Love having the bass knob to turn it down when the wife says it too loud. Overall very happy. Sounds great. I may add two tower speakers before next season. If so i plan on going with the Kicker 9 inch horns since they rotate and are easily removable and 2nd amp.

When we added the subs i was only going to go with one but decided on two since the free air’s don’t take up much space at all vs going with the 10 inch Kicker tube.1B83685E-EE8C-4ED8-BFF0-C930DEFBCB1E.jpeg801744A3-37F2-48D8-852F-79BA223B913A.jpeg
