Testing the new wake booster

Hey, guys so I have a 2019 242 Limited S and I want to surf on it. I'm thinking to get the 50lb bags of steel (1000lb in total) and put them in those back seats storage compartments (shown in the picture). What do you guys think of that will it work will it be a good idea? Or should I put those bags in the ski locker compartment or mix them up? Also with that, I want to get the wake booster to help out the wave. I surf regular (left foot forward). Any insight will be appreciated thank you!
Check out Jetboatpilot on Youtube to see placement. You will find getting that weight as far back and to one side will be important. They do mix it up though, and they will give you flexibility.

Why do you want to carry around 1000 lbs of lead all day long? Putting that much weight in those rear compartments I fear would damage the boat. I would get water ballast so you can dump it when done. This is what is going to make your boat surf: 750 lb ballast bag in the ski locker, 24ft transom bag, Wake Wedge. You can add another 750 bag under the surf side seat for a better wave.

@jcyamaharider Yeah you're right I didn't take about that. So you say to get 750lb in the ski locker compartment and then another 750lb the transom bag in the back seat on the side of the surfing side? (Total 1500lb?) Also, do you recommend the Yamaha wake booster? Or the wake wedge?

Yamaha Wakebooster all day (although I can't opine on the wedge). We're on our third season with the Yamaha wakebooster, along with the custom transom bag, and a center locker bag (which we don't need if we have several passengers). You really only need the wakebooster, along with the transom bag, along with a few people in the center of the boat, and we can wake surf for hours ropeless all day long.

I would get the Wake Wedge. The Yamaha Wake booster works ok but it does some things that destroys the wave #1 it introduces air into the wave and makes for a softer wave. Yes the wave LOOKS good but just doesn't surf as good as a Wake Wedge Wave. #2 you can leave the WW on all day long if desired. #3 the WW comes off easier. You can hit me up to purchase everything you need also.

@dzeppos What size bags are you using?
The custom bag you can get from Gatelin - 750/lbs on the transom, and then a standard rectangular bag 800lbs (when i have little in passengers)
Tsunami Pump and go to Fatsac for the other standard bags - look for 800lbs.

We wake surf all day - no issues - ropeless. The yamaha wakebooster installs in2-3 minutes. Very happy

24ft transom bag is 800 pound and the ski locker bag is 750. @dzeppos is correct though, you can purchase everything on the website.

For us personally - you really don’t need the center back as much. The transom bag and wakebooster is typically all you need

Can you use a wake wedge and a thrust vector together?
