Awesome, thanks! I'm trying to figure out if it would be a worthwhile cost to buy this with no ballast, or even just the swim deck bag. I have zero inclination to add ballast to the lockers, we carry entirely too much crap anyway, can't give up storage!
As a number of posters have said before, it's all about the list! So I think you'll have a hard time without ballast or a bunch of people crowded into the back corner of the boat, but I'll happily show what the wake looks like without ballast next time I'm out.

Great info subscribed it’s great reading all the techniques I like the info to keep the throttle lower on the surf side .Why does everyone seem to pick the port side for surfing ? From what I have been reading it favors regular style riding vs goofy foot, but are that many people regular riders .
Isn't it true that right handed people tend to be right foot dominate? Dominate foot goes back making right hand people's tendency to be regular foot. If true the fact that there are more right handed people would follow that there are more regular foot people.
That fact is in my head for some reason, and yes, that reason could very well be that I made it up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Having said that I'm right handed but goofy footed on the water so...
That is generally the consensus. If you were to slide across a wood floor with socks (Bob Seger and pants optional) the foot you would lead with should be your forward foot when riding any kind of board whether it be skate, snow, wake or surf. That being said, there are always outliers.

Yep that works. Although on the boat I usually use the "put your feet together and push them backwards" method for new riders. The foot they step back with to catch themselves is their dominant back foot. Most the time asking a little kid how they slid on a floor without them being able to actually do it is met with a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
I am finding this regular vs goofy discussion interesting. I floor slide and snow/surf/wake board regular but use to skate board goofy. Use to because I refuse to step on a skateboard again after busting myself up trying to show my kids how to do a kick flip. I still have not and will not live that down.

Huh? That's a new one - so interesting you skate board different. I'm goofy and if I try to do any board sports regular I feel like I have 2 right feet. Curious if you have any theories on why that is.

No idea. I started skateboarding young and just copied the older kids. My first snowboard lesson the shove technique was used and just waked and surfed the way I snowboarded after that.
