I have had my boat since last October right when the 23's came out and I was convinced the whole time the garbage can was absolute trash(pun intended). After about a dozen trips, finally yesterday, after having it fall off constantly during another boat trip, I finally noticed something. I'm not sure if it was the factory or the dealership that puts the mounts on, but they were 180 from the correct position, and it sure makes a whole lot more sense now. Guess I should see what else is upside down on the boat.

Is the trash can supposed to rest on the little nub below the two hooks? Or is that to hold plastic bags? Seems like it has to be a trash can or something other than a plastic bag, or it just wouldn't work (as you've noticed!)

Looks like the lip of the trash can should should “hook” onto the hooks not be pinned under. I’m guessing it was quickly installed. If this is the only issue you come across, you’re winning! Im sure you will find some other goofy things like this from a fit and finish standpoint.

Took mine out. Put trash back in your cooler. Problem solved
