trash can ideas?

The arms don't fold in, but it sounds like you just created something special! It is called a "Handi Hanger". The arms don't feel super strong but they hold a bag of cans and wrappers fine.

Ok time to add mine to the list. Ran across a kingsford charcoal container at my local hardware store for $12. The electeic blue top is a bit much for my boat but it might compliment a 242x with the blue. What I like about the container is that is has a lid the will stay on and stay shut. The size is also great for a full day on the water with 8 people. I had some 3m vinyl wrap laying around that I used on the top. Well lets say its a good thing I don't do wraps for a living or I would be broke but still better than the electric blue. Stock photo of the can and installed pics below.

I hang a regular kitchen trash bag from a piece of Velcro wrapped around the windshield support. When running, we leave it attached and seeing the bag in the head compartment. At anchor we open the door and let the bag hang outside the compartment. Works perfect for us.

Coheeba, where did you get your trash can? I like how yours fits in the picture above. I tried a couple of similar style but they did not fit well. Could you give me a link or exact brand/model of yours?

I don't know the brand and the boat is in storage for the winter. I will get the info next time I go to the boat.

I put this rubbermaid washable trash bag on my AR192. It's the perfect size to maximize the space of the door and still has room to close. I think I paid $15 but looks like it's a whopping $20 now. This is probably my favorite mod to date. The bag lifts out to dump and you can just hose it out or fill it with lake water to rinse it out.

Sorry @Vlad the boat is still in storage. I will be getting it in a week or so. I've been so busy this spring, I thought when you get older things get simpler, NOT

Did you through-bolt this or just use screws?

I drilled holes and put the screws right through the door. I think 1" 8-32's with a washer and nylock nut being on the inside. It helps to cut off the excess screw otherwise it impedes the cover from fully opening a little.

Does the bag hold liquids or will it leak?

Sorry it took so long.

A9432F97-22A8-4891-80ED-F15A9E538FD3.jpeg I’m going to start with low-tech solution. I liked the idea somebody had of the 5 gal bucket that can also be used as a porta potty in an emergency. I picked up a couple $3 4 gal square buckets today. Perfect size for using standard grocery bags for garbage. Lids were also available for $1.

I screwed up installing a cup holder, and ended up changing to a stainless kitchen utensil holder with a bathroom sized trash can under it in the helm storage compartment.

Pics below. Links to product and install info in the Google Doc in my signature.

I have an extra Kingsford Caddy that I plan to test as a trash can. It has a small door on top that seals fairly tight. I should be able to use a standard trash bag as well.

There are two sizes for those. I have both the larger and smaller one. The smaller one fits much better. The larger one gets in the way when you want to swivel the seat.

Where do you get the smaller one? what size is it
