Wake Booster

Still wanna sell you Yamaha??? lol
Could be a huge mistake!!!
:D

I'm probably going to take a year off from boating to focus on a few other things. If there are significant break throughs over the next year in surfing for these boats a slightly used 242x may be in my future.

Well not the finished product just a rushed booger welded protocopytype of the wakebooster. I took it on a sub 10 minute test ride with just me and no ballast and it definitely made a difference. 20180904_165717.jpg20180904_164712.jpg 20180904_165717.jpg 20180904_164712.jpg

Nice job. Any pics of the wave? Did it get better with ballast? Seems like every pic/video out there is ballast free.

You can't just leave it there @Gofish206 . We are going to need lots of details.

More to come tomorrow. Taking some friends and family out on the boat tomorrow after work.

It's tomorrow now so any pics of the wave?? :D

Great job! I knew someone would take a stab at this. Anxious to see the results!

@haknslash be patient, he did say "tomorrow after work"!

Im volunteering you to make these, once perfected. I also volunteer to be on the purchase list. Nice job! I understand it’s a prototype, the finished product will be nicely finished. But seriously, I’m glad to see the effort, and determination here.

I wasn't being totally serious. He can certainly take his time :winkingthumbsup". These things won't be available until almost 2019 from Yamaha anyways :p.

Yes not available till 19, but if someone can make them almost identical (wave) and design and sell them for way less it’s like Yama. Which I support 100%. I’d rather give my $$$ here than to Yama.

Sorry guys didn't make it out this afternoon. Will update as soon as I can. If anyone is around the north ga area that has some ballast I can borrow that would be great. My order want ne here in time for the week. Or if you you want to pile on my boat we can have a party on lake allatoona.

Haha I’ll hop on for additional ballast. I really would if I could find the time but tied up with different things for the next few weeks. Allatoona is my Home lake.

I know, I was trying to temper my own enthusiasm. That comment was supposed to come across humorous - big fail!

I have 2100lb and an over side pump

2x800lb and a 540lb bag. Will be in cumming tomorrow.

If this really works this could make a AR210 a surf boat which I never expected. Has anyone put any ballast in an AR210 (any reviews power/performance with a new designed AR210)?

I agree, I would love to see something like this on a 210 and see a comparison to the wake wedge's ability to clean up the wake.

I use my AR210 as a surf boat and it works fairly well. I run 800 lbs in the rear compartment (where the batteries are) shoved as far back as possible, and a 650 lb bag on the top deck of the swim platform. I also angled in the port side jet nozzle to try out "Surf Point" on my year boat, it was a small help, but was free and hasn't affected handling.

It's no dedicated wake boat wave, but it gets the job done for us. My next steps to make it better would be getting RideSteady (cruise control), a Wake wedge (or Booster) and maybe some lead bags (~150-200 lbs) to move around a bit to fine tune things.

@RightStuff get the custom swim deck and it will wake up that wave better than that 650 bag on your top deck. The custom bag puts the weight all the way to the outer corner of the boat better than just putting weight on the upper swim platform. Big difference and weight placement is key! My custom 490lb bag throws a better wave than when I had 1400 lbs on the boat and these pics I didn't even have the bag completely full lol.

@haknslash maybe I missed an update somewhere, but have you had an opportunity to get out there and surf that wake yet? I've had mine for 3 weeks and can't seem to catch a break to use it...
