Why aren't you boating? (A place to brag or vent)

Broken chairs bad... warranty good!
My chairs were SEVERELY (key word) "deteriorated".
(Don't use the C word with Yamaha warranty - "corrosion")

The spring structure under the captain's chairs had become deteriorated, making them structurally unstable and hence a major safety concern. My YES warranty covered them both to be replaced.

Welcome to the Midwest January suck.

Winter is what you make of it. It was -10f yesterday. We put on 97 miles on sled and partied at the Bonspiel. They had a bar setup on the lake and a real Zamboni to groom the lake for curling!!

Heading to work this morning. Crystal clear beautiful blue skies. Water flat. Thermometer showing -6f. And then a Canadian ice breaker goes cruising by.

Ugh... :(

It's too cold, but on the bright side Mardi Gras season has begun. After Fat Tuesday Day (March 5), it will only be a few weeks until the first boat trip of the year.

I think it has rained here nearly every weekend since Thanksgiving. If it wasn’t raining then it was cold. The rare weekends that weren’t raining or cold wouldn’t be a good weekend to boat on the river due to all the floating logs and debris from the previous rains and floods. Otherwise I would have been out on the boat to relax and balance out this work related stress lol. I’m so ready to get a day on the water!

Pretty painful outside right now. You Wisconsin boys have it worse. Hope to meet with you this summer @PJ73

I’m sure those snow mobiles are fun and all, but 4 today with -20 wind chill is too damn cold for central IL. I just walked out to my shed, saw the 4 wheelers and boat and just got what I needed and came back in the house.

Definitely a fair weather rider I guess. Lol

I love watching the trail videos from the comfort of my easy chair. And, my 3 year old loves watching “trucks in mud” videos on YouTube. I think she’d watch those all day long. Be safe up there in the cold!!

This means we will still have ice in Wisconsin and Minnesota in July....this is just silly....EEA63EC4-E84E-4A64-82BC-03E75F9C0A09.jpeg

Yeah, it's a bit nipply out. Definitely not a night to piss outside, your dangle will freeze. We'll see if we can get a get together this summer, maybe something in the southern part of the state and get you FISHTABS up here.

I little cold for the lake, but not too cold to smoke a couple butts.

Due to the distance that we have to travel to our usual boating spot, we only boat in the summer when the kids are out of school.

In the meantime, i love to get out to the track to go kart.

This year I’m adding another sport into the mix. I’ve started Paramotor training. Can’t wait to get it all figured out and get up in the air!!!

Are they water cooled? Looks like radiators on them. Sure beats the 5hp Briggs go cart of my youth.

Made it up to the Lakehouse Friday night, it was -25 when we arrived, and hats without the wind chill. Was out on the lake Saturday morning to play with one of the dogs, but only lasted 15 minutes before I thought she had enough. We’ll be on the boat in a few months. Just hoping we have a decent spring so I can finish the stairs down to the lake.

@itsdgm How fast do those go carts go?
Our karts are set up to go about 65mph. It’s the track that limits the speed. They’d be able to go faster if there were longer straightaways.

Yep. Water cooled 2 stroke 125cc and about 33hp. I remember those Briggs & Stratton days too. ;)
