That’s part of my problem here in N IL too, the other part is that Mother Nature has turned into Sybil and can’t seem to decide, is it late spring or late winter? It was 45 on mother’s day, today it’s supposed to be 75. I’m over it, can’t wait the 7 years until my daughter is 18 so I can move south...My ramp (and my slip) is about half a mile down his road...
I hear ya! My youngest is 5 and we love the schools we have here so we are dedicated to where we are as well. We have family in warm places! That’s part of my problem here in N IL too, the other part is that Mother Nature has turned into Sybil and can’t seem to decide, is it late spring or late winter? Life goal achieved! ✔Boat lift is supposed to be dropped in sometime this week (Mental note: Transfer money so I can actually pay for this thing!), we'll be back up at the cabin on Thursday night, if the weather cooperates, the boat will be launched and parked in front of our place Friday morning, and should be there until sometime in October!
I've been dreaming about this day since I was a little kid, and I'm just a few short days away from it! (Granted we've owned the place since last July, but this will be the first time the Lake House actually feels like a Lake House!)
Again, if the weather cooperates Friday morning. I'm making coffee, waking the wife up, getting some tennis balls for the dogs, and we are all walking down to the pier, drinking coffee (my wife and I) and swimming (the dogs) first thing Friday morning, watching the sun rise over the trees and lake!
