Why aren't you boating? (A place to brag or vent)

We are getting so close. I put the sleds to bed, and got the boat out of storage on Mother’s day

This was after spending the entire Saturday in wetsuit and waders in 40 degree water. We pulled two docks out, installed three docks and three lifts! Time for warm weather!

My ramp (and my slip) is about half a mile down his road...

That’s part of my problem here in N IL too, the other part is that Mother Nature has turned into Sybil and can’t seem to decide, is it late spring or late winter? It was 45 on mother’s day, today it’s supposed to be 75. I’m over it, can’t wait the 7 years until my daughter is 18 so I can move south...

I hear ya! My youngest is 5 and we love the schools we have here so we are dedicated to where we are as well. We have family in warm places!

I took my seats out to be reupholstered in February. My guy has not finished yet. Or maybe started, he doesnt answer his phone so I dont know. If he hasn't started I'm gonna just pull them from him and reinstall them as is for the year.

I'm not boating because people want to give me money.. not going to lie I work hard first 2 weeks of month during summer so I can do whatever/whenever on boat the rest of month.

Next week is already booked up with 3 new services and sales apt for a wildlife job. Oh well, guess I'll only get the weekends and my trip next weekend to HHI.

until next month when I take a week off, and another week in July. I guess I get enough time to boat :)

We only have rain and blowing winds, but it just as well may be snow as well. It's freakin' cold!!2019-05-18 14_53_32-Valley News Live - Home.png

It's been unusually chilly and rainy here for May. Things should turn around in next few weeks. Been out only once this year!

Same. Been out once for 3 hours.

Venting... After months of searching I finally found a 2011 Yamaha sx210 at the right price. On May 4th I put a deposit on it pending a water trial. The dealer needed some time to detail it and reupholster some of the seats but we would be ready for Memorial day weekend... I can handle that. The Mississippi river in St. Louis was flooding anyhow... Well the water is still too high to get to a ramp and it doesn't look like I will be boating this weekend. Our short boating season is getting shorter. In the meantime I think I have read every thread on this forum. Please keep the content flowing.

Boat lift is supposed to be dropped in sometime this week (Mental note: Transfer money so I can actually pay for this thing!), we'll be back up at the cabin on Thursday night, if the weather cooperates, the boat will be launched and parked in front of our place Friday morning, and should be there until sometime in October!

I've been dreaming about this day since I was a little kid, and I'm just a few short days away from it! (Granted we've owned the place since last July, but this will be the first time the Lake House actually feels like a Lake House!)

Again, if the weather cooperates Friday morning. I'm making coffee, waking the wife up, getting some tennis balls for the dogs, and we are all walking down to the pier, drinking coffee (my wife and I) and swimming (the dogs) first thing Friday morning, watching the sun rise over the trees and lake!

Took mine out last week for a cruise and didn't realize prior to arriving at the launch that the annual lake fly hatch was at full force. Took it out anyway. When we loaded her back up, the front was completely brown. Pressure washer wouldn't even remove the dead bugs, so I ended up scrubbing the entire thing. Lesson learned.

Screenshot_20190521-132051_Samsung Internet.jpgfrom last night. It was already high. Mothers day I had to wade to the dock up to my , boy they got cold. Holy cow is the water really dirty now. From the last sign on the right of the pic, which the signs are about 4 feet tall. The stairs start there to go down 4 to 5 feet, then a concrete path sloped down to the floating walk to the dock. So probably 8 to 9 feet out.
Edit : 12 feet is what the article says.
