Yamaha surf wake wedge reveal!!! Warning pic heavy

Well, I would get one then,,,,its also great for Holding Speakers, Boards and the Bimini!!
@lashburn1 , a tower is on the list. I have been working on the mods that I have listed below. A tower is in my eminent future though.

I think you are over thinking it....these ladders were designed to have a substantial down force applied to them.....we are not blocking the jet flow but just simply kissing the top of the jet flow to force it down. There is pressure on the product but not as much as you guys/gals are thinking. I have tried to fully block the jet flow with no better results so there is no need to do that. When I did do this the product and ladder had no bad side effects.
Good point. I forgot that I weigh 300#!! and my ladder does fine.

awesome!!!!! I want one!!! how much would shipping be on that bad boy????

Actually your design looks like the force would be split between upward force and sheer. The upward force should be irrelevant, and the sheer strength at that mounting point should be fairly high.

LOL !!! I doubt it

Yah, I think we have sold our X-30.... Bank already confirmed loan etc...buyer just needs to Get it..

After owning the MC and Driving and riding in it....My wife doesn't even want to look at Malibus or Nautique's.

The Yamaha 242 LS we had was pretty loud underway and hard to drive for her when towing riders....
I must agree...
But I think it was a great boat for the Money, one of the best actually.

Our next boat will Likely be another one season old MC X-10 that someone else took the hit on....$$$

Don't quote me on any of this though...

Man...my wife has zero, zilch, no interest whatsoever in considering a higher end boat. I would love to get either a Cobalt 232, a Regal 2300 or something like an MB B52 23 but she can't wrap her mind around the prices of these boats, even used. Oh well...she's a fantastic wife and puts up with my shenanigans, and our Yamaha is a great family boat, so that's the way it is!

I suggest waiting until after the Yamaha dealer meeting. I do not have any inside intelligence, but I feel that Yamaha will have to release a wake orientated model to maintain market share. It would be great if they did it this year.

That would be very cool, but it seems highly unlikely that a first-year entry into a surf-oriented model would really be competitive with what's on the v-drive market already. If surfing is your thing and you don't have to have a jet, an Axis T22 can be had for pretty close to 242 money. The Axis is certainly no Mastercraft or Nautique in the "luxury" department, but then it costs about half as much. Fit/Finish of the T22 my friend just bought seems nicer than what I've seen on the A models at the boat show and compares nicely to Yamaha. Surfgate is pretty awesome, too.

I sure wish I was rich...I could buy a different boat for each sport and not have to try to make my jet boat a wake surf boat :)

I'd like a nice Cobalt, Chap, or Regal... But my girls have no interest in a Boat the can't Surf Behind.... My wife agrees.
... and I like to Surf too....so that's that.

I would love a MasterCraft, but reality is, my kids are more into tubing now. I don't know what happenned. Last year all they wanted to do was wakeboard, now all they want to do is cove out and do the rope swing ( occasionally surf after I beg them). And that's been most of our boating this season - run to the cove to meet up with friends and watch the kids paddle around and do the cliff jump and rope swing. GREAT!
So me and the wife have actually been discussing the MasterCraft (that I want) is so out, and the Cobalt 232 WSS she wants is so so in.

They might Bruce, but there pretty Busy selling and Making the boats they have now, the small improvement from 13-14 were pretty negligible and A sign they don't listen to feedback or at least act on it.

They need a new Model in the Fleet....I believe a Fish boat is on the Rack this season. (Mark this post for later "I told you so "reference)

Yeah - they are sweet. A buddy of mine just bought a slightly used 2013 232. What's amazing is how soft they ride, regardless of the chop. He can power thru shit at 45mph that would have the rest of us clenching our ass'.
It's unbelievable - and that's what caught my wife's attention. That and the fact that we see 20+ year old Cobalts all over our lake.

I would prefer to install it prior to launching - install it in my driveway so there's no rushing. So once I launch, how will this effect slow speed maneuvers, or driving around in general - launch, pulling out of marina, getting to a spot, etc, etc.

This was exactly the experience I had on a Cobalt 220 out on Lake Tahoe a couple of months ago. They have clearly figured out how to design hulls that ride almost unbelievably well. It was that experience that has the idea of a Cobalt in my future stuck in my head! I will grant that there could certainly be other boats that will ride just as nice, so I'll have to check them out as well when that time comes!
