Yamaha surf wake wedge reveal!!! Warning pic heavy

So your saying my dreams of ropeless on my 212X with stock ballast are out of the question ... damn lol, so either load the boat up with people or start looking at some additional bags :(

Pay attention @Master-Spud we have already proven that a 212x with stock ballast will work with the wedge ropeless. This test was for boats with no ballast what so ever.

Ohhhh lol, was just adding up your weights and was more then what the stock was for my 212x lol... as you were nothing to see here lol

@jcyamaharider realistically...when will i be able to order one and will there be a website or will i go through either of you two??

No a 212 x you should be good to go with stock ballast , we ran a 2008 with stock ballast and we were ropeless :) but a simple 350 pound bag on the rear seat will amp up the fun !!!

I look for samples to be ready to test a newer boat within a week or two.

So yo
Tried some testing this weekend with no ballast......you can have some fun on the end of the rope but going ropeless was out of the question. You will need some kind of ballast, we were able to go ropeless after a 750 bag on the seat and the surf side 400 being filled up. You will have to work the wave but it was possible.

We also got the measurements for the new boats so brackets will be made shortly.

So your saying on the 242 ls you tested, you need to have ballast no matter what?

@jcyamaharider So you want to visit the Pacific Northwest with a sample??

Now that sounds like a fun trip , a day of surfing , testing !!!! :)

say the word! i'm in!

This picture is with my stock 2008 212X with full ballast and 8 people on board. The surf wedge thingy is installed. We are in about 16' of water. sx210owner is trying his surf board. Running about 9-10 mph.

We Tested It Behind My AR230 and yes....it be people or bags the boat still needs to list.

Hmmm...hard to say. I was driving and looking in the mirror. My guess is 6-8 feet.

nice!

@buckbuck, What is your ballast setup? I see the big bag in the seat. Are you using others?

That picture was taken with the stock ballast tanks full. I think that is 750 lbs. Add in skinny females and some chubby males and maybe a total of 2200 lbs people and ballast.
We did some testing one morning with just three of us. the picture of the bag on the seat was from then.

Re-reading your post Bruce I think you were referring to the pictures of sx210owners boat. He won a bag from WakeMakers at our Shelbyville outing and tried it out. His boat is blue. Mine is black. Same hull.
