My friend is on a work road trip to Munich ND and stayed at the Woodland Resort at Devils Lake last night. He talked with a few anglers at the restaurant and got some good dope on the fishing there, so I thought I’d put out a question to the group for info about Devils Lake?

Im thinking of putting Devils Lake on the short list of places to go.

Thanks!

Invite a local, get a guide, or find a map of the places to avoid.

As the water has dropped a bit, old farms, buildings, fences, trees etc have resurfaced. There has always been a danger of flooded objects. A jet would be nearly ideal.

The perch and walleye fishing is second to none in the region. Lake Winnipeg ranks right up there as well. The pike population blew up years ago. And it is one of the very reasons why ND repealed the ice spearing law.

The most popular way to fish devils lake other than the summer is by SnoBear in the winter. That lake gets covered with the big white animals, and all of them with buckets of jumbo perch aboard.

Go get 'em and report back!
