I would not recommend that. As Captain of my boat I concentrate on navigation and driving the boat forward. I assign one crew member to look forward for debris and seaweed. I assign another crew member to watch for other boats. And I have another crew member Manning the radio to communicate with other members of our group. I'm assuming that you have a jet boat, if you were to be alone on your boat, get seaweed stuck in one of your engines and have to stop to clean it out fall overboard, now everybody has to come and rescue you and save you and put themselves at risk. Just saying, it could happen.

@chris24's opinion is based on the assumption that your crew members are capable of doing any of the things that he listed, in the given environment. If they can't they'll only be a distraction/hindrance. So, to answer your question @Amar Nanduri, it depends on your crew.

One question. If my whole crew decide to fly to Bimini will I be able to boat there by myself ?

I don't think it will be an issue since you will be traveling with a group all you have to do is follow the boat in front of you and you should be fine. It maybe easier with one person on board to assist but being by your self you do not have to worry about passenger comfort which is nice. I would run a jet ski to Bimini by myself with out a group with the correct safety equipment and not think twice about so I would absolutely run my boat by myself with a group.

@Amar Nanduri, it is entirely possible in this scenario that no one knows you have fallen overboard for a long period of time.

You need someone else on the boat to deal with many scenarios including cargo breaking loose and any medical emergencies that might occur.

All of your comments make perfect sense. My son is type 1 diabetic and 11 yrs old and my daughter is 9. So my wife might decide to take both of our kids on a ferry or by plane to Bimini to minimize the risks. She has not decided yet on her approach.

I still have 5 months to decide. Reservation will be confirmed tonight. So let's see how it goes

@MrMoose I must admit after I read you post I got a good chuckle. I can see my normal crew now on a Bimimi run sitting there sucking down their juice boxes and margarita's when something gets stuck in the jet pump and they would all look up at me and say that sounds bad you should go back there and do something about that. Then when arriving at Big Game club shuffling them all around the boat so I can get dock lines and bumpers while listening to them all whine that it's hot and they are salty and their backs hurt. lol man is it summer yet good times.

Every 1 bedroom loft I've stayed in both bathrooms have a shower. For the little extra money a loft is much better than a 1 bedroom and someone sleeping on the couch.

I very much 2nd that. Not every 1 bedroom has a sleeper sofa either. That would be a decision made by the condo owner. Neither of the 1 bedrooms I've stayed in had couch beds.

Funny how things work out. The dates come out today for this years run and it lines up perfectly with the dates we already had a house book for and my passport comes in. No a bad day

Makes for a nice day but I still think you should reconsider sacrificing yourself to the mosquitos in the lodging you have booked.

We spoke to the guy to owns the house as well as some of the people who have stayed there around the same time and none of them have any major issue with mosquitos or others Critters no more than expected from a tropical island. It is off the ground and its not like we reanted a double-wide meth trailer. We have 8 people going on 2 boats all of us have significant others with us and looking at the price you put out this morning for all of us to have our own room plus renting the dock it would cost all of us way more per couple. I appreciate the concern.

I stayed in 10F in 2015. It had a loft (ladder to access) but it only had one bathroom in it. It did have a pull-out couch in the living room, so it could sleep 6 if needed. I'm not vouching for the place because when we arrived, it had not been cleaned because, according to the Bimini Sands staff "the owner did not want it cleaned" and it reeked of rotten food the whole time that we were there. I convinced the maid to do a quick clean-up (including the floors), but it didn't help with the smell.
