You are only required to fly a yellow flag from when you get in Bahamas waters (usually a mile or so out will do) until you clear customs then it comes down. You don't have to fly the Bahamas courtesy flag but most do out of respect for the country you're visiting.is this good for the Bimini Trip?
Was not aware until today that I needed them

Can't speak for @DieselCamel as he's a floridian yuppie now, likely practicing shuffleboard as we speak, but it doesn't look like we're gonna make it. Too many other trips planned at the moment, not enough vaca. If something somehow changes, I'll just cuddle up with @swatski .@veedubtek, @DieselCamel are you guys skipping Bimini this year? Will miss you if you are!
Lets plan on picking you up at Ft. Lauderdale. I'm only going 10-15th.Can't speak for @DieselCamel as he's a floridian yuppie now, likely practicing shuffleboard as we speak, but it doesn't look like we're gonna make it. Most Walmart stores have a pack of flares on the shelf for $25 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Orion-Locate-4-Handheld/16326929Looking for advices on usgc approved flare/distress signal devices. Cheaper the better
Don't forget to check the expiration date before buying. Most Walmart stores have a pack of flares on the shelf for $25 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Orion-Locate-4-Handheld/16326929
The Coast Gaurd requires 3 unexpired flares. The four pack at Walmart is sufficient as long as it is not expired. As mine have expired I have kept the old flares on the boat along with new ones just in case I ever need them.Is one pack of 4 sufficient for the trip? Incase i get stopped by the coast guard
The flares I linked to fully satisfy the US Coast Guards requirement for visual distress signals. You can meet those requirements in other ways but a cheap pack of flares every few years is in my opinion the most effective way of doing so.what about LED flares?
Walmart has had the gun style flares as well. The last kit I bought was that style. They are around $50 with the gun vs $25 for the sticks. I spend way less if I walk into a Walmart than a West Marine. West Marine is full of so much so cool but so over priced stuff.Get the flare gun for god-sake. The only gun you can bring anyway. Even I got one for that. West Marine.
