I ordered parts for the 160mm conversion on July 28th. The impeller finally showed up on Aug 21st. I just got home to start my week off and found a 155mm impeller in the box. So now I have to send this one back, and wait on a new one to be custom built. I'm sure it will be another month, so this conversion probably won't see the water until Spring.
We'll keep us updated.

New top speed this morning. It was cloudy and 73 degrees with low humidity. 59.17 mph @ 8350 rpms.
This was with a full tank of fuel and 3 kids with me.

Damn that's good, basically a full 10mph over stock.

Amazing job @SamCF . Curious, about how much $ per Mph would you say you had to spend so far?
It's not just top speed, the whole power band is improved. It jumps up on plane effortlessly. I went around a slow boat today, the kids were in the bow, and I hit 56 mph in a few seconds. Huge difference in driveability. RPM at cruising speed is reduced, which makes a more smooth and quiet ride.

My go fast parts total is $2200. I purchased the ET Low Boost wheel, powershot and Lucky 13 cone used. This is not including the 160mm conversion, as it is not installed yet. There are also some tools that I had to buy to do the work that I'm not including in the cost. That is VERY cheap speed in the boat world.

Keep an eye on the Greenhulk Classifieds, a lot of good deals go thru there. You need to know what you want and be ready to buy.

If I was starting from scratch, these are the parts I would go with:

Fizzle Intercooler with BOV - $900
ET Low Boost Wheel - $500
Dean's Tune - $550
Rising rate fuel pressure regulator - $400
AFR gauge and adapter - $225
Lucky 13 cone -$300
Bend the factory impeller 3-3.5mm

I'm going to try Water/Methanol injection next summer. I have used it on a hotrod diesel, and a turbo RZR with very good results. It will make the high rpm runs much safer, and also keep the intake air temps much cooler than the intercooler can accomplish. This should allow consistent performance in any air temperatures.

I can only imagine what you would do with a 195 boat. Course, on the other hand, you might end up with same top speed limited by hull but with less mods to get there.

I called deans shop and sounds like that are working on 195 SVHO stuff already

I think a 195 needs an intercooler and a tune. From there it would just take pitching the impeller for 8400 rpms. Probably end up 2 mph faster than my 192 setup.

Why the rising rate fuel pressure regulator? I know what it does but is it really needed?

Edit.. did Dean do a boat tune or is this an off the shelf tune? And if it is an off-the-shelf tune is the air fuel ratio gauge needed obviously it's a safe investment but is it absolutely needed on a proven tune?

I don't think the regulator is needed under 8300 rpm. When weather gets cooler in the fall, rpms come up and people blow their motors. Need to keep it under 8300 or be able to add fuel.

I'm running an ECU for a FX waverunner. Dean will have the boat tune ready soon. It is the same tune, but it will enable cruise assist and no wake mode.

A lot of guys have tuned their skis at 8300 rpms. Then, they make more power in the cool late summer air temps and blow motors. If you don't add the guage and regulator, I would have the rev limit set at 8350.

Anyone have any input I was thinking about the following mods for my AR192:

HSVO Intercooler
HSVO Oil Cooler
An ECU Remap of some kind

However the water temperature at the lake I use my boat only gets to around 76 degrees maximum. Would this be overkill in cooling???

The oil cooler is not needed, and may cause overcooling of the oil. This could lead to gas in your oil.

The SVHO intercooler is a very good upgrade for a stock boat. If you plan on any further mods you should go with a bigger intercooler.

A "type 14" from frozenboost.com, or a J FIZZLE intercooler from the store at Greenhulk.com. You can't overkill on the intercooler. Colder is better.

You should delete the flame arrestor in the intake when you do the intercooler.

Try these mods first, you might be happy without a tune.

The Maptuner X, R&D R3, and Dean's Tune are all very good. I'm running Dean's Tune, but it doesn't have cruise assist and no wake mode operational yet.

A reflash without adding a wheel for more boost with do much will it? Too bad we couldn't just change a pulley or gear to spin the stock one faster.

No I don't think a tune without a wheel would work well. You would have to de-pitch the impeller to get rpms up. That would probably cause cavitation. @swatski did a lot of testing with de-pitched impellers, and cavatation was a big problem.

Shoot I was hoping to be able to add a remap the ecu to get a few extra MPH out of the girl. I'd rather not drop too much $ on this boat. I'll just have to settle for the ribbon delete and upgraded intercooler.

What are you seeing now for top speed? What is you elevation?

Truthfully I recently added the SVHO intercooler and am around 47MPH depending on how many are in the boat. The lake is around 1300ft. I'm looking for a little more tops speed but more important a little more power if I have a few people in the boat and am pulling a tube.

You might gain 1-2 mph with the ribbon delete. I would expect 49-50 mph at you elevation with a light load.

So the remapped ECU wouldn't add much on top of that?
