Grandpa had a favorite saying that has come to mind a lot in this thread.

If you polish a turd it’s still a turd. But if you roll it in glitter you can call it an upgrade.

Ding Ding Ding!!! And we have a winner!

I'll repeat again!!!!!!!

"Some take an abstract example and try to apply real life situation...."

Abstract example and real life are relatable as oil is to water!

If you want an example as you have requested........I'm sure with enough googling.......someone can find one.

I'm never amazed at the depth of ineptitude.

Can you repeat that definition of fundamental for me, too? Having a little trouble keeping up with your expertise.

Did ever tell you what to call it if you put 20 bucks worth of condiments on it? An abstract example, maybe?

I love it! Think your Grandpa was wise! And I agree, that saying is applicable!

I really didn't think the lemmings would fall directly into place even after I outlined how they would...I keep thinking there is no way they fall into that same hole again and again and again and again and again.....

Yet, I am constantly proven wrong....or is it correct....even now I'm confused.

"No hangover this AM but a slight grin at how easily the herd is scared. All sounds of dissention must be silenced. Easy to add xxxxxxxx comment from behind the mob. Ah, its refreshingly un-refreshing.

But not much was expected from the get go."

Yes. I think the mustard could be considered the metaphorical glitter

For example: (That tidewater of yours @ClemsonTiger will never be a freeman cat no matter how much you spend on glitter)

@Bruce your child didnt learn his lesson, needs a timeout... :winkingthumbsup"

Annnnnnnnnnnd ignore... Some people just want to argue..

Give him a break, he is still upset Clemson got destroyed by Bama a few month ago.

Hey I’m upset about that too.... some people cope differently I guess

I agree 100%. Here is the difference. I hold no allegiance to any brand. Does Tidewater have many shortcomings? YES! Am I disappointed by a lot of things on my Tidewater. YES!

Will I ever recommend a Tidewater or purchase another one? NO!

Tidewater is NOT quality and is not even close to an optimal fishing boat. Period. Facts are facts.

I also don't get butt hurt by the facts nor feel the need to defend at all costs in the face of facts! (here's looking at you Yam fan boys)

Yes, lets all stick our heads in the sand.....the sounds of dissention make some people's ears hurt.

I’m sorry you hate your tide pod... I legitimately like my boat...

No worries, can't fault anyone for not knowing anything different. The saying applies to everyone....you don't know what you don't know.

Even more apropos - who the hell eats flank steak except someone who can't afford a real one?
Experience, tells me not to go there...but I have raised, named, killed and eaten my own beef, pork and lamb for the last 20 years. And I must say, a good flank steak, prepared properly is one of my favorite cuts. But I eat pretty much everything but liver.

But you seem to know everything and still made a bad choice

For a long while I enjoyed his posts.. He has an infinity amount more experience than I do but lately its not been the same quality. I can understand being turned off by a brand. I hate ford gassers after a bad experience and I poke fun about ford but I dont go on ford forums to complain. My post earlier about when someone who is highly experienced and knowledgeable able rage quits the forum it hurts the forum is also true when you are forced to ignore someone who is highly experienced with blue water boating and fishing. But I don't come to the forum for drama. I get enough of that daily.. So I lasted as long as I could.. Then ignore. It is what it is now.

I agree...Carribean Flank Steak off my griddle is one my family's favorite meals. Anyone can cook a decently good tasting filet mignon, but I choose not to afford that every week.

Never claimed to know everything...and I made 2 bad choices. 1st was buying the FSH...2nd was the Tidewater but to a lesser degree.

The FSH was just horrendous....no way around it.

The Tidewater at minimum allows me to fish proper. Are there things that I would consider again if faced with the decision again....absolutely.

It (Tidewater), will serve its purpose over the next 3-4 years, then it will go the way of the FSH. I'll sell it to someone while trying to talk them out of buying it (as I did with the FSH)...but if they press and really want it, I'll have no regrets letting it go after all its shortcomings are understood by the buyer.
