@haknslash maybe I missed an update somewhere, but have you had an opportunity to get out there and surf that wake yet? I've had mine for 3 weeks and can't seem to catch a break to use it...
I feel ya! I haven't used my boat in a while since putting the boat up for sale :(. Last time I tried my bag I got slack in the rope and could have probably gone ropeless but it was just me and my buddy on the boat and he couldn't figure out how to smoothly keep the throttle applied and adjusted for a surfer since I don't have perfect pass or ridesteady.
image.jpeg

I also just about lost my pinky that same day while surfing as my hand went into the rope when I feel lol!! I called it a day after that as it was kind of scary and my pinky was numb and raw from rope lol.
image.jpeg

Other 19' guys have gone ropeless on my bag design and @swatski has recently learned to go ropeless using his custom swim deck bag sized for the bigger boats. These bags really do work and I'm sure you'll like yours.

Nice! I recall hearing of your pinky fiasco now that you mention it. I've got the bag for my 240 I just hope I get the chance to use it before my season ends... water's getting pretty chilly pretty fast here.

@RightStuff get the custom swim deck and it will wake up that wave better than that 650 bag on your top deck.
I saw those bags pop-up right after I ordered my bags I use today, so I was just a tad too late. I like how that came together and the placement of that weight. I was thinking a few lead bags would weight in that same spot right at the back corner. I was able to go ropeless with my setup, so I was pretty happy about that. If I can do it, anyone can!

Looking forward the the test results. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 212x and curious if the Wakebooster or Gatlin Wedge is the way to go.

Still doesn't say anything about whether or not any ballast was being used.
I was thinking the same. Not one mention of ballast with the wakebooster in any Yamaha video , cap. Steve, San Diego demo rides...none.

Not the cleanest wave either but, well, Captain Steve was surfing... Assuming the benchmark is the Gatlin and extra ballast - we still need a side by side.

This is why it would have been nice for Yamaha to invite some of the forum to help showcase and do thorough testing from an owner's perspective. Maybe one day they will come back around. it also sucks that BoatTest disables their comments on the video so we can't even ask them if they used ballast or not.

I like how they only show Goofy side in almost all of their videos. The wave isn't even that great, on the goofy side with the Wake Wedge and the transom bag the wave is huge!! Waves are ALWAYS better on the goofy side. LOL

LOL this video was shot at Park Marina in Acworth, GA. My wet slip is just over under the red arrow. Too bad I wasn't around or I would of had some questions!

I couldn't get a good look at that rope but it appears to be the type I refuse to allow people to use on my boat. Big handles are dangerous in my opinion.

What's interesting was I noticed they used 2 different roles during the filming. The green one looks like the same one I have with small handle and the gray one is the one that comes with the kit. I wonder why they used 2 different ropes? I agree large handles for aurfing are just asking to get a limb stuck in them.

Someone mentioned the idea of using the WakeBooster and the Wake Wedge at the same time and what the wave would look like. As far as I can tell, this would be impossible based on the way the Wake Wedge currently mounts. There would have to be a complete redesign of the wedge to make this work. Maybe @jcyamaharider can chime in on whether he thinks that it would even be worth trying.
What would happen if you used one on both sides at the same time?

Your question got me wondering about something along the same line.
I wonder if there would be any benefit to running the wedge on one side, like normal, and adding a small surf flap on the other side to settle the blast from that pump. Probably wouldn't make any significant difference to the wake, but still makes me curious.

Ordered from where? Did they give you an estimate on delivery? My local dealer said they were not authorized to sell to anyone unless they were purchasing a 2019 boat. If you have an older boat you would have to wait?
