Mine just came in (cockpit/swim platform) and on a stay at home vacation. Wondering about how much I’m going to cut into “Momma’s time”.

I did swim platform in a half hour. It was washed I just wiped it down with acetone, cut the backing and put it down. No problem. Once the boat is clean just wipe the area you are going to do and put it down you can do a piece then a hour later do another, start and stop anytime.

I just ordered the cockpit part a couple days ago I didn’t get it yet I did the swim platform last year.

It goes pretty fast, surface prep is key though.
Slicing the backing (waxy paper?) in half (without slicing the SeaDek, lol) helps with good alignment.

Temps are important, can not be too cold, which I suppose is not an issue for you in TX!
Also, depending on what you decide to do about holes left from snap removal it could take another 24hrs or so to cure.

Thanks guys... will start it in the morning then. Wife as to go in to work for a couple hours.

swatski,

Swim Platform took me 15 Minutes last weekend..

Thanks guys... took a couple hours for the cockpit kit... took a break to town for a Margarita and food.

It took me 2.0 hrs. I researched using Acetone or Rubbing alcohol to prep. I used rubbing alcohol based on other suggestions and the fact that Acetone is hazardous to breathe.

True I felt like Chevy Chase in modern problems while using the acetone... in an open area with a little breeze.

Well mine is going to take several months to install now. Kit came in last week but the temps are cooling off a bit too soon , so I'll more than likely wait till spring.

Is very worth it if you have a day above minimum temps

Take it out of the box and unfold it.. I left mine in the box over the winter on one of my last boats and the folded crease never did completely go away..
