In china, I imagine if u go to the dr and find out u had the covid 19.... I would imagine alot of them were accidentally suicided... with a gun... to the back of their heads.... Clinton style! I agree.. china will need to answer for this. Also I like to see the good in it. maybe we will start manufacturing our own medicines here instead of there!

We are already seeing Americans take the initiative to make their own products. Look at auto makers helping make ventilators, college engineers turning CPAP machines into emergency ventilators, Mr.Pillow Guy and others making medical masks and PPE (also look at the deranged left for deamonizing that man for doing great things for this country), everyone wants to help and be less foreign defendant. Maybe this is truly the great awakening in disguise. I can't think of any better way to hit China where it hurts than for the world to turn their backs on them and start becoming self sufficient Giants they once were. Yes it would take time. It might not be in our generation but perhaps in time for our children to reap the benefits if we could stop relying on China for EVERYTHING. Our medicine comes from there, every single thing in our houses comes from there, our phones, our medical devices, our PPE and masks, our lives completely revolve around a shitty ass evil country that murders their own people if you dare speak out. All because of the mighty dollar and it starts at the top of CEO's in the country. They gotta go too. To hell with all of them.

They absolutely despise the CCP as the CCP has been brutally suppressing them for a couple of decades (CCP has been accused of harassment, re-education camp, prison, torture, murder, organ harvesting, etc. of Falun Gong members). Its been very disturbing the lack of caring about safe distancing and shelter in place around my area. Between the large groups of partying boaters and the young adults playing basketball at the local court, it just infuriates me.
I took a voluntary 30 day lay off because most of the techs i work with are 20 somethings that dont think this is real. They are all operating as nothing is going on. Total lack if responsibility.

It does suck and feel for you man. My wife had to make calls this week telling her staff everyone can either take a furlough or voluntarily take a temporary 20% pay cut. People are making sacrifices left and right and you have some people think this is just another day of hoax or a long April Fool’s prank. I had to call back a summer college intern we’ve used for a few years and tell him we can’t bring him in again at this time. For starters I don’t ha e a laptop for him as everyone else is isolated working from home and nobody is in the office to give him minor tasks to do anyways. He said he and 8 of his college buddies got back from Panama City Beach, FL spring break just as they were closing beaches and he said yea it was just boring bot having people to party with. When I asked how he was holding up I could tell he thought all of this was just stupid and he doesn’t get it. I was thinking to myself “damn, you’re one of the ones” as he was talking about his spring break trip sucked and having to take online classes...ugh. Meanwhile millions out of a job which I guess isn’t real enough for him.

WTF is wrong with people, do they have to have a loved one get really sick or die to realize we are losing many unnecessary people to this. 6000+ is too much and the number will be much higher from the mentality of idiots like that

Well, if only (international) polls were designed to ascertain drug efficacy we could take it as good news. Unfortunately, polls are just that.
In the meantime, whatever anecdotal evidence is mounting out there in the alternative universe, the hard evidence for this drug effectiveness in treating COVID-19 is "equivocal at best", and the drug may actually be harmful.

Read the "poll" with great anticipation but... Unless I misunderstood or missed something, the only thing that's missing is RESULTS!
Polling physicians around the world is a good start but IMO without results it's about as useful as asking them if they take cream or milk in their coffee!
I don't understand why someone (hello WHO?) isn't developing a database of patient condition including preexisting conditions vs therapy implemented and outcome. I think enough time has passed in parts of the US and certainly other parts of the world where some meaningful trends and patterns should be emerging.
I know that it's a bit of a machine gun approach and goes contrary to the usual methodical, precise approach but these worst-case folks are screwed! Go for it (in the same way that a field medic wouldn't be expected to hesitate). I won't get into the politically motivated bullshit that we've seen in this mess - at EVERY level of government.
My daughter works for a non-profit that aggregates climate and economic data from global databases and makes it accessible for research. Why not the same thing here?

Simply put, without a randomized controlled trail any interventional study will suffer bias and error not considered acceptable (as a study design).
It does not matter how many results are "reported".
Observational studies have their place in diagnostics but not drug efficacy testing.

I dunno, none of this was a secret. Maybe a good bit of "we're not China" hubris, but there was ample time and reason to believe it would eventually take hold in Europe and likely here. I seriously considered liquidating my 401K holdings to a cash account in early February, but markets were still ticking up and I was being greedy. Hindsight is always 20/20. I'm in no danger of retirement anytime soon so I'm not going to worry about it - but would have been nice to get out when this got serious elsewhere.
