I ride goofy, most people ride "normal". The tricky part is how to setup without having to move ballast around when the surf side needs to change.

This is why I have my setup with the big bag centered on the transom, and one 200 cube on the rear seat, surf-side. When we need to adjust for regular or goofy, we just empty and move the one 200 cube to the opposite side. It's (reasonably) fast enough to do.

Dude, as a fellow goofy, I feel this pain. Last year I was the one mainly surfing so I didn't have to switch that often, but when I did, it was a huge pain.

I considered buying a second deck ballast bag so I didn't have to empty one and fill the other, I could just transfer the water between sides, but that looked too expensive.

This year (if I don't buy a proper wake boat), my plan is to center the transom bag and either use human or lead to push it to the surf side. Also, getting in the water to switch the wakebooster gets really old too... another goal for the 2021 season is to meet up with someone else with that has the 21' wakebooster and see what it looks like running two boosters at once.

Ok I ordered 200lbs extra ballast 4 x 50lbs fatsacs. That should get me a little more length on that wave we shall see. Kind of think the setup will be like I drew below. I know Yamaha says their cubes are 200lbs but I measured them and they are same size as the fatsacs advertised as 155lb. So techinically I’m going to have 310 from Yamaha package plus 200 from the additional 4 small ones for total of about 510lbs. Should be decent.

Not caught on camera but I was able to go ropeless with only the wake booster package 2 cubes and wake booster . Very stoked . Waiting for additional ballast and it should help even more

I decided to add a 260lb bag to the stern lower and a 260lb ski locker bag , so total will be 660lbs on the rear deck (like a gantlin or fatsac for Yamaha) and 260lbs in the ski locker. That should be 920lbs of total ballast and get me a decent wave. 4 bags total. probably 15 minutes to setup with the tsunami pump.
I guess when i fill the ski locker one, I can with use the pump to empty or let the bilge take the water out?

If the ski locker bag has quick-connects that match your pump inlet, then I would let the pump suck it out. Will be faster than the bilge and there will be a lot less water running through your boat. As the water drains out, you may have to keep some hand pressure on the top of the bag to ensure the pump inlet is taking in water and not any air that might be inside the bag.

Yes Pump is setup to suck out, thanks for the tips

i had purchased 4 - 50lb bags and they did help a tad in the stern but they were too much trouble for the lbs gained, so the 2 yamaha bags plus the 2 i just bought should be better overall process

Well I’ve upped from the stock wakesurf package.. I have the stock cubes and added a 260lb fatsac to the lower deck.. essentially that gives me the equivalent of the 650 lb custom fatsac but since I already had the cubes , the extra bag was easier. The 190 still does ok pulling 650 plus 3 on board. I am now surfing ropeless. I have one more 260lb bag that next time (i forgot it’s drain plug at home haha) we go out will be inflated on the floor from bow to helm to lengthen the pocket. Attached a few pics of he surfing... short pocket and I get really close to the boat this way so hoping the extra bag in the bow gives me a few extra feet in the pocket. But... for a guy my age, for casual surfing, this scratches the itch off a wakeboat price for now.

so I agree with he consensus that the Yamaha package is a good start but you need another at least 250lbs or so for an adult to comfortably get ropeless.

ps. The 4 small 50lb bags from my previous post were too much trouble for the weight, now I will only have 4 total bags to inflate for 920lbs of ballast (2 Yamaha cubes stock location plus 2 260lb fatsac tubes one lower deck and one floor bow to helm vs. 6 bags for 600lbs.

I have an AR195. I ran the regular wakebooster package and could go ropeless but the sweet spot was tiny. I just held onto the rope and to be honest it was still fun and I could get a good workout. The youngest could stay in much longer. This year we will add a ski locker ballast and a little longer board. That is all the money I am sticking into this. It will either work or not work.

Yeah the additional weight really helped the pocket for me 100% ... good luck
