Marinemat vs Seadek?

Resurrecting the thread. Went with Marine Mat... custom ordered direct from MM. Turned out nice.

That came out really nice! I can’t get anyone from Marinemat to respond to me via email. Did you guys just call them? I like having the info in email form as my memory SUCKS!

Just an fyi the mariners material is thinner than the Seadek. That was the main reason I have not placed an order yet. Calling Seadek tomorrow.

I don't know how things work out for FSH models, but I like SeaDek!

I have done two full cockpits and swim decks plus all the extra pieces available from JBP in SeaDek (twice) and would not want to go any other way.

I looked at the MarineMat snap-ins in new boats, over and over again as I wanted to like those, every boat show and dealer visits, and at the end I do not think those are as good as SeaDek.

@JetBoatPilot really provides a superb SeaDek product (with all the extra pieces - that are great!). And the prices are very good (with self install). In fact, I have had a hard time convincing some of my friends to believe what I paid, they all though it must had been more expensive.

Those optional small pieces rock! It's an entirely different feel, how one can use stern space with those in place.

You can walk all over the stern and won't end up on your butt!
I find it super useful when rigging ropes between tubes and boards, it's also great for kids crawling around. Don't forget the pieces for those little steps on the side of the stern/swim deck. JBP has them all covered, worth every penny.

Every time I kneel down in the boat to get into a hatch, I'm grateful fo the SeaDek. It's easy on the knees.
Probably a little easier to clean the regular fiberglass finish, but the soft cushion under your feet and the extra sound canceling
properties make it well worthwhile.
Purchased my SeaDek from JBP.

The money is the big issue in my check list... I got quoted for the 210 FSH $700 with seadek vs $319.95 thats a big difference if you ask me...

The rest of the boat... $995.00 vs 1700 from JetBoatPilot....in the end , money talks.

I"m looking at doing MarineMat on a fsh190 and on their website getting a quote for $1600...how'd you do a complete fsh210 for $1300?

Got seadek for my 210 FSH from Jetboatpilot during the fall sale a year or two ago. $1426.88 delivered to my door all floor surfaces including swim platform. Fantastic investment as one of the greatest added pluses was how much it quieted down the boat much less what it did for comfort and aesthetics.

I've been going back and forth on what to use myself. Have any of you looked at AquaTread? Seems like it could be good quality, and similar pricing as SeaDek. Possibly more stain resistant. Don't see any talk about it on here though.

doesn't appear to be a foam type product, just a thin laminate of some kind? I want something that'll add cushion as well. I'll probably end up with marine mat because there's good and bad opinions on everything, and marine mat has nice color and design patterns. I've got tired of researching at this point.

It is a foam actually, I got a sample last year, just a slightly denser, perhaps thinner, but non-porous foam. "cross-linked polyethylene (PE) based foam" is what they describe it as.

The sample was about the same thickness as the marine mat that my 210 came with though.

I just realized you said you're boat came with marinemat already installed, why are you replacing it?

I went with SeaDek, great product, price (group discount) and they support this group of crazy jet boat people.

I think most of the manufacturers are pretty good now days. I think years ago a few were having some issues but I think they have gotten past that. I've installed seadek on 3 boats now. Have only done the swim platform on the 210 so far. I think go around I may go the snap route rather than the stick down. At least on the floor
